The deal was that if the invading foreign criminals who were in the country at the time were given amnesty, that the Democrap-controlled Congress would pass legislation drawing the line there, and enacting strong measures to prevent any further invasion across our southern border.

Of course, the Democraps, being what they are, took Reagan's goodwill concession, and refused to hold up their end of the deal.

Reagan's only mistake in the matter was in making such a deal with the Democraps, and assuming that if he acted in good faith, that they would as well.

We've had several Republican administrations and several Democratic administrations since Reagan. No one has solved the perceived problem. It lies somewhere between our better natures and reason.
