Their arguments about why the Senate needed to call witnesses were contradictory​

The Senate is not going to call witnesses in the impeachment trial of Donald Trump, and to all appearances the whole thing is nearly over. Acquittal is imminent, and supposedly serious commentators are on Twitter wailing in unison with Democratic activists. But what they are saying does not make any sense — it’s contradictory. On the one hand, they say that the case against Donald Trump is open-and-shut: so utterly persuasive in objective terms that only the Senate Republicans’ bad faith has prevented them from admitting it. On the other hand, Democrats and the pundits don’t trust voters to be persuaded by this purportedly airtight case — hence all the lamentations about an outcome that will leave Trump’s fate to be decided in November at the ballot box rather than having him removed early by vote of the Senate.
But if the case against Trump is really so strong, why isn’t it a safe bet that voters will dump Trump? Should they be persuaded? It’s not as if there hasn’t been plenty of publicity for the allegations behind the impeachment effort. No doubt the Washington Post, MSNBC, CNN, and the rest will have much more to say about them over the next nine months, too. Nobody can claim the voters haven’t been told. So again, why not trust them to do the right thing, if the right thing is really so objective and obvious? Donald Trump was elected to break the grip of such a class on our country — a constitutional president to defy the extra-constitutional authority of the elite. His success in doing so has been limited, and it will continue to be. But his enemies recognize what he and the defiant public that voted for him represent — a rebellion against their authority and a threat to the belief system on which their power depends.

Obviously Progressive Marxist Socialist/DSA Democrat elitists no longer trust American citizens to elect presidents of the Unites States every four years. Their secretive meetings and secret depositions of witnesses smacks of Star Chamber tactics and medieval kangaroo courts of the Inquisition. Their concerns are not in the interest of the people but in their retention of Power and increasing their individual wealth. In the quest to feed their Mammon like greed they the demonize their political enemies claiming they are homophobes, racists, sexists, deplorables, etc. Their propaganda and distribution of disinformation and false claims has in the 21st Century surpassed and rival those of Edward Bernays and Josef Goebbels.

It still there duty to impeach if they believe he did any wrong duty as a public official which cannot be denied

Impeachment is a political tool and as such it is political

To do nothing would just have the repub claim that it was all fake

Yet they will still make the same argument when they vote for acquittal along political lines

Yet it is a cover up by the repubs as they will not allow testimony as if they are afraid that free speech will incriminate Trump but what is interesting is that most potential witnesses are repubs

The voters still will have their say in November to determine if he really is the worst president in history

They ceased being true Democrats the moment Donald Trump won the presidency in a glorious upset in 2016. It's incredible that they STILL haven't recovered from this.

Non Sequitur. Clinton was impeached after a long and exhaustive investigation for lying to a grand jury and suborning perjury from others to cover up salacious acts with a coerced subordinate employee. God only knows what else he was never caught doing.

Trump was impeached on a railroad fast track hoping to remove him from the 2020 ticket on what essentially amounted to presumptions of intent while blocking all avenues to prove otherwise, and for exercising his legal rights confirmed by the Dept of Justice Legal Counsel as an equal and separate branch of the government, because the House wanted it all done by Christmas.

Now tell me you don't understand that, or I'll tell you you're either stupid, ignorant or a liar.
