Every day I see Americans who have been here for many generations with Irish, Italian, etc. bumper stickers on their cars or flags flying in front of their homes. It's not unusual.

The point is that lots of people celebrate their family heritage in America. Always have. Legal or illegal alien is another matter. If someone is here illegally, they could dress up like Uncle Sam every day and it wouldn't change their status. If someone's family came here from Portugal three generations ago, they can fly a Portuguese flag in front of their house if they want to. Just as long as the Stars and Stripes flies higher.
