immigrants from which continents would you welcome?

While this is an older post, I thought I would toss in a question just to see responses. The OP asks from which continents would we accept immigrants. My question is, if a large alien spacecraft with a sizeable population inside were to land within our borders, would we make them go through the standard alien/foreign application procedures and "wait their turn" or fast-track them through? Also, if they requested "asylum" from persecution in their planet, would we demand they go to the very next habitable planet, to theirs, as we do foreigners that seek asylum here?
After all, Voyagers 1 and 2, had maps to our location and greetings in multiple languages, thus seeming to welcome someone. Interesting yet, when we see unidentified flying objects in some areas, we fire on them. Giving off a different vibe to alien visitors.

I don't care where they are from so long as they come here with the intention of becoming loyal Americans, go through all the proper legal channels for admission as immigrants, learn our laws, the English language, relinquish all allegiance to their former country, and are able to support themselves so they are not a burden on others.
