Lenin was paid by the Germans to go into Russia and destroy its war capability, which he did, with German financial backing.
Stalin was a bank robber who tagged along with Lenin, and created the largest example of state capitalism since ancient Rome.
Ho Chi Minh spent a decade in the US trying to get us to help against the French, and he was finally forced to give up and get the Russians and Chinese to help.
Castro was similar, in that he went to the US for help and we turned him down, forcing him to go to the Russians.

Seems to me you are conflating the Far Left with the left wing of the Democrat party. The far left anarchist are to me more akin to the far right fascist, which I hope are still a minority fringe on both sides.
