Not sure if this belongs in the economy or stocks section-need a "financial" section.

It's the December 26, 2024 show. He has been doing his show for over 30 years.

I first saw Dave Ramsey in person at a show in Houston, TX 18 years ago. He was much younger and slim. That was back when he pushing his "Total Money Makeover" book. Which is some good stuff. I took my daughter to that show. We have seen him a few more times after that.

A lady called in whose husband is in the military and they are now expecting a baby... and her husband had a credit card with his mother and his mother ran it up $14K. Dave preached the "Leave & Cleave" sermon. He put the blame 100% on the husband. He said a week "BEFORE" he got married he was supposed to cut entire family off financially including his mother. Dave says the big baby has not matured, and this financial situation is going to get worse until he pulls away from his mother $$$. I say it has divorce written all over it and child support.

I'm a female and I would not be in $100 debt along with my mother. Do you think Dave gave the right advice?

I actually learned about my "Retirement IQ" from that black dude who used to work with Dave Ramsey and participate in his shows. When I took his test it showed I needed. 1.2 million in order to retire. I'm still believing and working towards it. I'm single... that is the amount a single person needs. I can just imagine what a couple would need; maybe a whole lot more.

18 years ago after reading Total Money Makeover... I took a lot of Dave Ramseys advice (as a black woman). It helped that I was already a Bible believing Christian, and Dave Ramsey talked about the Bible scriptures throughout his financial books.

1. I started that Roth IRA he taught us about and fully funded it every year.
2. back 2013 I built my own house, made sure it as completely bricked on all four sides, and paid cash for it because Dave Ramsey talked about the 100% down payment in his book. I was a single black female following all of his advice. I was scared to do so at first.. to pay that much money at once, but after his book advised doing so I went ahead and did it. I have never had a mortgage a day in my life. That is a blessing. Not many adults can ever say that.

Thanks to God and Dave Ramsey. Dave is one of the main reasons I stay out of debt. My earthy father died when I was just 20, so I borrow other people's dads for good advice like my college professors years ago, some pastors, and Dave Ramsey.

All praises to God Almighty, my entire life is blessed. "Glory Hallelujah"

With the huge collapse due around mid -February it is highly likely that Card debts will be totally swallowed and lost .
By luck "they" will probably get more than something for nothing.

Not advice .
If you also know about the crash --- max out your cards and change address .

I love how positive Dave Ramsey is. When he gives his advice he believes it is going to work for us.

I also like how he talks to the males and females as if they are all this sons and daughters whom he wants the best for in life for.

That was a really good story by Quincy (black male).

He said he went to college, but did not like it so at age 20 he enlisted into the military (army) got placed in El Paso, TX (I used to work out there when I was young) then he started attending a church (New Hope) and they were teaching a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace class there. That helped him live below his means and get out of debt. He Brough the ministers who helped teach him the class into the Ramsey studio with him. He got to shout out...

I'm Debt Free!

That's soooo good, Dave Ramsey said when someone calls for a referral about any of their ex-employees all they tell them is yes that person worked her from this date to this date.... and nothing more.

Dave Ramsey says they are not allowed to say anyone was a good employee nor a bad employee because they can be sued for defamation. Wise advice. People give bad referrals to try to keep others from eating and surviving. Just because they were unsatisfactory working for you does not mean they will be that way working for someone else. People grow.

Ramsey's been around for a long time. I remember seeing him late-night decades ago
in my mammy's living room. Next up was "How to make a fortune in real estate" or something like that.
He's a sharp guy.
