It gets as cold as Texas does.
Ya gotta remember Florida is further south for the most part while Louisiana and Texas are in the same area.
Trust me,I know this since the crawfish season is affected the same in Texas as it is in Louisiana.
Alligators are affected by the cold as well and they've developed a way to deal with the occasional extreme temps by making breathing holes in the ice.
Piranhas dont have this ability since they're from far a warmer climate.
