Yes, some reasonable assstance has been extended. As for the rest of the complaints here against Biden — What a bunch of ultra-partisan hyperbolic crap! Most people now rightly worry primarily about Americans stuck in … Gaza!

Of course that includes especially those who now may be held captive alongside Israelis by terrorist cells! But we should not forget those just visiting relatives living in Gaza. They are all now in danger, with the Israeli and Jewish American captives of course most threatened.

Apparently the U.S. government has arranged for priority passage through the main border crossing with Egypt for normal Americans visiting or working in Gaza. There is not much else that can be done for them right now.

People here seem to think the U.S. government is all powerful everywhere. It isn’t and never has been. But a U.S. citizen is often given privileges overseas that citizens of smaller countries simply don’t have.

I recall how in China during the first weeks of COVID when Chinese cities and provinces were suddenly locked down, special flights were arranged to get hundreds of Americans and other Westerners trapped in Wuhan and other cities out. I also recall how our righties here were later complaining about how the Chinese — by working with Western governments to set up these special flights — supposedly were “exporting COVID” as part of a diabolical plan to infect the world!

A U.S. passport is still a damn valuable thing to have when traveling in most places. This is the case pretty much regardless of which party happens to have its “leader” sitting in the White House! So let’s cut the tribal partisan shit, please.
