If you were to own just one revolver, what would it be?

I also have the Single-Six. I only have the magnum cylinder for it at the moment. Kind of a funny story with this pistol. My son was rucking around the property with it, and somehow lost it. We looked, looked, and looked never could find it. Well... Being as it was fall, he had an idea. I wasn't home at the time, or there is no way I would have greenlighted this brainstorm. He raked clear lines in the woods where he thought he lost it, which amounted to about a quarter acre. And grid, by grid; he burned the ground cover. Sure enough, when I got back, I came home to a Half acre of burned woods, (ground cover only, it got away from him), and the pistol! That's why one slab looks black, and on that same side the blueing is gone.

Don't know, don't think so but I'm not a big Ruger fan. I know the newer ones are all cerakoted which to me makes them ugly looking, I'm too much of a traditionalist when it comes to single actions.
They have their place as a low-cost/good quality field .22 in today's market. Hands and feet better than a Heritage or the newer Diamondback. Performance in the field outweighs looks.

They are fun to mess with too. I reversed the frames on the bottom two and the funny thing was the balance improved on both....I have another still NIB in my grandson's safe.

Are they a Colt Scout or a Ruger New Model S-Six? No but they were never intended to be. Decent quality at a budget price point.

The Ruger NM Single Six (top) I had shortened. They never made one in that barrel length....Very handy.

Looks like a H&R 922 or 929.....My dad gave my granddad one but it had a 4" barrel....It was used in a home defense situation where a woman killed her Ex-Husband that broke in. Dad worked the case so she gave it to him when he went to return it to her.

Yup. The 929... The holster cost me more than the pistol!

Who made it?

I like those old "even top" holsters for field holsters, lots of protection for the weapon.

I don't think anybody makes a "even top" any more....I guess the closest are the DeSantis speed scabbards.
