We have a competent chorale in my church, but not nearly enough personnel to perform it, nor do we have an orchestra of that size.

I live in a very small town.

Best thing -- the only thing I miss -- about living in Seattle was the annual New Year's Eve performance of this by Seattle Choral Company and Seattle Symphony.

I can look it up, if you want. It just seemed a little lame, like the Schirmer libretti of foreign language operas. My husband hated singing the operas in English. The clumsy rhyming structure tells me I'd appreciate the German original, if I spoke the language.

Mostly of the German people I know.
Professionally they can drive you crazy. They live and die by "the rules" - whatever they are.
Huge insistence on sticking to those rules despite how maddingly unnecessary they may be.
Personally - I have found them to be very honest and straightforward. And if they detect you are not being honest, they will not associate with you for very long.
