Andrew Weissmann, former lead prosecutor for Special Counsel Robert Mueller, talks about the laws Donald Trump may be violating by directly pressuring state officials to falsify their state's election results, and cites this as an example of why a president should not be allowed to self-pardon.

trump is knee deep in election interference. His efforts in the courts are understandable, although very unsuccessful. But his pressure of state officials and election officers is a crime. He is attempting to get the results of an election overturned. He is trying to persuade state officials to falsify the election results or to bypass the voters all together and have the Repub legislatures hand him the win.
THAT IS A CRIME ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!
18 U.S. Code § 595
18 U.S. Code § 594
For a candidate to exert political pressure on an election he is running in should be criminal interference
It is not only criminal, trump has inflicted so much damage on the electoral system in the United States that it will take generations for it to be repaired. trump's lies and conspiracy theories are not only dangerous to this country, it has caused many election officials, many Republicans, to seek protection from law enforcement. To trump, the country Be Damned. All that matters is his ego and his maintaining power. He has been fanning the flames of Division since he was elected. This is his ultimate effort so far. He would be sufficiently happy if his lies and distortions cause death or country wide civil discourse...if it meant he would stay in power.
His followers need to understand. He DOES NOT care about you or this country. He only cares about himself and to maintain his strangle hold on the Republican Party. Repub congressmen are cowards and unpatriotic. They would rather worship this man than uphold the Constitution of the United States. This is a sad and embarrassing moment in the history of the United States.
