Huh, they don't mention that January 2015 had the record high Labor force level and we currently have more people employed than ever before. Or more importantly...that the number of people who don't want a job is at its highest.
Say what?!?!?!!?!
LFPR FALLS TO LOWEST LEVEL SINCE 1978 - Business Insider
And? The LFPR is Employed plus Unemployed divided by the adult civilian non-institutional population. Employed is the highest ever, unemployed is not, the population is highest ever.
Look: Last year in March, there were 247,085,000 people in the population. There were 145,301,000 employed and 10,387,000 unemployed for a Labor Force of 155,688,000
The LFPR then was 155,688,000/247,085,000 = 63.0%
This March, the population was 250,080,000 which is higher. Employment was 148,331,000, which is also higher. Unemployed was lower at 8,575,000 but labor force was higher at 156,906,000. But LFPR then was 156,906,000/250,080,000 = 62.7%. Levels are higher, perscentage is lower.
