So I realize that logic isn't a big thing for Democrats, but let's look for the logical connection between:

Republicans filling a Supreme Court vacancy, as provided for specifically in the Constitution and...

Democrats packing the court, or

Democrats granting statehood to the two welfare states of P.R. and D.C.

In short, there is no connection whatsoever. The reality is that either or both of these actions would be politically despicable, but Democrats are making the case, in advance, that they would be "justified" by the Republicans doing what the Constitution demands.

Like there was anything stopping them before?

  1. D.C. is too powerful as it is without the official representation of statehood. The land retrocession of the Pentagon to Virginia needs to be annulled, and the U.S. military needs to be more involved in restoring law and order to the District of Columbia in all its original 100 square miles as specified in the Constitution.
  2. The U.S. military needs to crack down harshly on the DEMOCRAT Communist Party City Hall urbanization regime of Puerto Rico before admitting the territory as a state. Unlike D.C., statehood is a must-have natural goal and objective for Puerto Rico.

What would adding 2 new SCJ mean to the SC? Each Justice, one from Puerto Rico and the other from DC have to be voted on by the standing Senate Justice Committee..

No need for justification anymore. McConnell did that shit because he could. LOL liberal tears, right? Payback is a bitch when you attack democracy.

The democrats are preparing to attack...

Both actions would be constitutionally acceptable. quit whining.

We should adopt the attitude towards granting statehood like they had during the time of slavery. If you are going to create a free state, you also have to create a slave state as well, and vice versa.

That way the power is balanced within crazy town
