If we pulled out of South Korea would the country fall to the north?

And could we afford to allow that to happen?

What, if any, solution is there to this problem?

They probably would be able to fight off the North Koreans by themselves, the issue becomes if the SK's start pushing north, the Chinese may jump in.

We are more of a trip-wire for the Chinese these days than the North Koreans. Our main aid to SK is the fact we would nuke the crap out of the North if they irradiated Seoul.

To run a pipeline.

You will find the answer within your own ignorance.
