When economic conditions in Mexico went south in the 1970s, and when horrific civil wars broke out in Central America (especially in El Salvador) in the 1980s, the United States did not have the heart to stop the flood of economic and political refugees.

Today many Americans see NO problem with Hispanic people becoming the majority ethnicity in California.

These Americans say something like: "Millions of people came from Europe and became good Americans. There is NO difference between those Europeans of the past and the Hispanic people of today."

Eventually, there will be another legal amnesty. In the meantime, there is a de facto amnesty. The millions of undocumented immigrants are NOT leaving. And millions of Americans WANT them to stay, for many jobs -- directly or indirectly -- depend on the presence of undocumented immigrants.

I think we both know that no sane, legitimate American says that.
Those White Europeans came legally and invited, they came before 1935, before the welfare era, they paid / earned their own way and most spoke English. Good Americans are still willing to invite Europeans to migrate to the U.S....Decent, moral First world minded, English speaking immigrants tend to be a better fit for Americans. After all, our founders wanted it that way....Read the Naturalization Act of 1790.

Perhaps we should just finish the action we began in 1846 and this time, once we roll into Mexico with troops, take fully conquer it, make it a 51st state and eliminate the drug cartels.

Of course making all these brown Mexicans American citizens add 125 million non-white voters to the rolls, pretty much making whites the minority population while giving the Mexican illegals currently in the US, voting rights as well as access to social programs like social security and Medicaid.

You can’t even eliminate the drug gangs in your own country, so the idea that you can just wipe of the entrenched cartels in Mexico, is laughable.

It wasn't the illegals that ruined everything, it was the commies in the Governor's chair that allowed them all in.
