In commercials on TV often the white man is portrayed as being foolish or stupid and a woman or black man is shown as intelligent and wise.

As a white man I laugh along. White men have broad shoulders and don’t get insulted easily. If they did suddenly start to gripe about how they are depicted, it wouldn’t change anything.

If you are white you can’t make excuses for why you are not successful. That alone explains why so many white men succeed. If at first we don’t succeed we don’t make excuses or bitch. We just try, try again.

I do occasionally see a commercial where a white guy is smarter than a black guy. One involves a back guy cleaning his trash cans and a white guy asking him why.

When I was growing up, if you couldn't take a joke and had "thin skin", you didn't have any friends and nobody wanted to be around you.

If you wanted friends, you developed a sense of humor, or you sat in the corner alone.
