Very superficial and wrong. The US never "carpet bombed" or aimed at killing civilians. The RAF deliberately targeted civilians to "de-house" them and deny German war factories workers. The USAAF targeted factories and war industries, given the state of the art, civilians got killed. But unlike the RAF, Luftwaffe and IJAAF/IJNAF the USAAF tried very hard to hit strategic target only and avoid civilian casualties.
