If Mayors or Governors of "Sanctuary" Cities/States are Referred to AG Pam Bondi for Violating Federal Law, should they be Prosecuted?

"But look, me and the Denver mayor, we agree on one thing -- he's willing to go to jail, I'm willing to put him in jail because there there's a statute. It's Title 8 United States Code 1324 (iii). And what it says is it's a felony if you knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien from immigration authorities. It's also a felony to impede a federal law enforcement officer," Homan told Hannity during an interview on Fox News last night.

Homan's comments come after Mayor Johnston said he was willing to go to jail to stop possible mass deportation efforts under the incoming Trump administration.

It seems that Mayor Johnston at least is willing to put his own life at stake in his quest to make sure that his city is not made safer by the removal of foreign criminals. I think that request should be honored. But other mayors and governors who smugly believe they can flaut the law should be next, once Mayor Johnston is a convicted felon.

Or . . . maybe the courts will issue a new precedent that says that if local executives disagree with federal law they do not have to follow it.

It could happen. Then you win, Democrats!

What say you?

If the local politicians protect illegals from deportation, then they are "aiding and abetting" criminals and should be arrested and jailed. A crime is a crime.
Other politicians that actively seek to undermine the Constitution and its Bill of Rights, after swearing an oath to defend the same, must lose their posts and not be allowed to serve in any capacity that requires swearing an oath to the Constitution and if necessary, be arrested for sedition or treason.

What happened to "Leave it up to the States?"

At least the OP is smart enough to know that ICE can't arrest the mayor.

Their motto is "nobody is above the law"
but they are always above the law, even laws they flake out on their opponents, so there needs to be a point they eat their own words and send a message to others, you can't just pick and choose obeying which laws like it's some Biblical law to choose to follow or not.
