I'd also suggest availing oneself of the opportunities offered to all in this great country, instead of bitching about injustices of the past.

Isn't that what the Black residents of Ferguson are trying to do? To take advantage of opportunity you must first remove the obstacles preventing access to that opportunity. But opportunity is not the issue, per se. The issue is that the city has used it's police force to harass and literally rob the Black citizenry. That is the prevalent theme underlined in the DOJ report. The injustices outlined and cited therein are current injustices... not past ones.

2. The people that passed Jim Crow laws did so with the blessings of a US Supreme Court that was majority Republican. Jim Crow emanated from the 1896 Plessy vs Ferguson decision with the majority opinion written by a Republican.

3. The KKK was not created by the Democrat Party but by a few southern conservatives who were at one time possibly aligned with the Democrat Party. Now, as you know, conservatives are aligned with the Republican Party while Liberals are identified with the Democrats.

4. Now you are splitting hairs. The Democrat Party did not fight against the Civil Rights act.

2. The people that passed Jim Crow laws did so with the blessings of a US Supreme Court that was majority Republican. Jim Crow emanated from the 1896 Plessy vs Ferguson decision with the majority opinion written by a Republican.

3. The KKK was not created by the Democrat Party but by a few southern conservatives who were at one time possibly aligned with the Democrat Party. Now, as you know, conservatives are aligned with the Republican Party while Liberals are identified with the Democrats.

Nearly 100% of Union state Democrats supported the 1964 Civil Rights Act compared to 85% of Republicans. None of the southern Republicans voted for the bill, while a small percentage of southern Democrats did.

For example, 43.8 percent of African immigrants had achieved a college degree, compared with 42.5 of Asian-Americans, 28.9 percent for immigrants from Europe, Russia and Canada and 23.1 percent of the U.S. population as a whole.
