The purported lie was that Brown had his hands up and was surrendering to the officer. Upon investigation it was determined that Brown never had his hands up, was not surrendering and in fact, charged at the officer which prompted the officer to fire in self defense.Show me where it was claimed.
And its connection to 'Hands up, don't shoot' which has been called a lie.
How is 'Hands up, don't shoot' a lie?
Seems to me it's more a satirical recognition of policing in the US.
