If Blue states are the givers and Red states are the takers what does the left want to be done?

Just curious..

Does the left want to move toward a flatter, less progressive federal tax code?

Does the left want to cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid?

Does the left want to return unemployment insurance and similar entitlement programs entirely to the states?

Does the left want to hand over the national parks to the states, or privatize them?

Does the left want to downsize the federal workforce?

Should we redistribute military bases from red states to blue? (Those relocations might meaningfully alter the state electorate, making it easier for Republicans to get elected. They would also require the purchase, by eminent domain, of a lot of prime blue-state land that has things like beach houses on it.)

They like to pretend that California has a large economy but somehow always conveniently forget that if it were not for all the federal bases that economy would be a lot less. The federal government is proving up their economy.

They are lying...again...

Now it’s true that the average taxpayer in blue states pays a higher per capita income tax than the average taxpayer in red states. But that’s because those states — particularly Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and California — have more rich people. Don’t the Democrats want the rich paying their fair share?

As for blue states allegedly getting back less, what numbers are they looking at? It is true that red states receive 35.75 percent on average of their budgets from the federal government, while blue states receive 30.80 percent. But this is because the blue states’ budgets are far larger due to all the bloat and waste. The 10 states in the best fiscal condition are almost all red states. The 10 states with the worst numbers in the red are almost all blue states.

The higher the taxes, the more mismanaged a state is. CNBC examined the infrastructure of every state — roads, airports, water systems and ports — and found that the places with the worst-rated infrastructure are six Democratic states, which also rank among the highest in taxes collected per resident: Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York.

Steven Malanga at City Journal looked at airports as an example of how blue states mismanage money. He found that three of the worst airports, all located in NYC, are run by a port authority that has “enormous taxing power in the form of fees, tolls, fares, and rents that it collects everywhere from bridge and tunnel crossings to the airports themselves.” The authority uses this to “to subsidize lavish salaries and benefits for workers and politically favored, but super-costly, money-losing building projects.”

The Tax Foundation’s State Business Tax Climate Index analyzes how well states structure their tax systems. As expected, the poorest performing states are generally the highest taxed states.

Kyle Sammin at The Federalist found that if you look at the amount of money the federal government gives to states on a per capita basis instead, blue states get more; $2,124 per resident. Red states receive just $1,879 on average.

Matt Palumbo writing at The Dan Bongino Show found that even if red states receive more in federal welfare, it’s not going to Republicans. Those on public assistance, as well as long-term unemployment, are overwhelmingly Democrats.

The whole red state vs blue state issue is bogus.
The Dems are trying to use the Electoral College results to characterize GOP Voters.
51% of the vote changes a state from blue or red or red to blue.
Most red states have large populations of poor minority Democrat Voters who consume the federal spending.
They are trying to compare Vermont to Mississippi.
And, CA has a large population of poor minorities, and it also has the largest poverty rate.
Federal spending follows minority population percentage, not election results.

Just curious..

If, instead of comparing federal funds to state budgets, we look at how much the federal government spends in intergovernmental grants per resident of a state, the results are turned on their heads.

Against a national average of $1,935 in intergovernmental spending per American, red states receive just $1,879. Blue states get considerably more, at $2,124 per resident. Purple states see the least of their money returned to them per capita, at just $1,770. Measured in this way, the blue states are getting quite a bit more than the red or purple.

Trump increased taxes on the wealthy with the SALT cap and Dems still cried and wailed. I think because it put a stop to blue states not paying their fair share of the Federal income tax.

Yup them blue states are givers alright. Look at all they been giving the people on the west coast. Giving them non stop rioting looting and burning. Murder. Businesses forced to close. Jobs lost. Yeah they givers.

I would like to move to no state can take more federal dollars than they send to DC.
