Idea for Biden to consider

According to the supreme court ruling, nothing a sitting president does using his presidential authority is illegal. He has the legal authority to scoop trump up and drop him in Gitmo, or some unknown base where he will never be heard from again.
What would be the "official duty" he was exercising doing that? I can list the parts of the Constitution he's violating if he did that.

It's obvious that Congress needs to pass legislation rescinding blanket immunity for a sitting president. It's also obvious that congress has no desire to pass such legislation. Biden should present his idea for such legislation along with the promise that if it isn't passed quickly, before the election, he will commit some obviously illegal act and rely on his blanket immunity for protection. There is a wide range of actions the president might take to make the MAGAs cringe for years to come and there will be nothing to be done if the legislation is not passed. If it is passed as requested, there will be no need for Biden to fulfill his promise. Of course, there are countless reasons why this scenario should or would never work and Biden is too ethical to even consider such a ploy but that is no reason to take it off the table yet.
retarded.webp

So extortion of congress if they fail to obey dictator Biden, got it. :cuckoo:

Got it .. so you request the Biden / Harris administration to act unethically, while at the same time advocating ethical standards for the Supreme Court? Makes perfect sense.

Given that the Supreme Court just legalized elected officials taking bribes, sorry "tips" from people they've given government contracts to, I'd say he needs to do something and quick, since they've already immunize the President from anything he does as part of his "official duties" - that includes selling pardons and ambassadorships, and sending the army to end peaceful protests.

Given that Trump is "setting aside" the Constitution, and taking control of the DOJ, don't expect the courts to protect you, unless Biden does something to correct the corruption of the current court.

Maybe you should go the white house dot gov and put that in the electronic suggestion box. i'm sure they will read it.
No need. It's already being discussed. It's being discussed as a joke for now, but who knows?

You dont think a President ordering a drone strike on a US citizen might be in violation of that person's Constitutional rights?
Doesn't matter. The sitting president has authority to order the action and since he is immune for presidential actions, it would be perfectly legal. I guess they could try to impeach him, but it's doubtful they could do that before the election, and Democratic senators would probably do exactly what repubs did when they voted against trump's impeachment anyway.

That was Obama
Damn you stupid.

Under what authority could a President snatch someone off the street and toss him in jail? And again I can list the parts of the Constitution that would violate.
As commander in chief, he can order the military to do almost everything. You don't think he could come up with soldiers who would do as he ordered? The Supreme court already said he is immune from prosecution.
