There are more trees in America now than there was in the 1800s.I was hoping for a more scientific explanation it actually is happening. I remember reading years ago in national geographic about the Amazon rainforest producing 20% of the world's oxygen well they keep burning it down and destroying the forest I figured that's less oxygen coming into the atmosphere. I was hoping the scientists on here and there are scientists on here would explain if it's affecting the amount of atmospheric oxygen. Everything was better when I was young including the air as far as I'm concerned.

De-forestation is primarily being done for the Asian markets. Just another way China fucks the world.

Nearly all paperback books are printed in China. Because it is cheap. It is illegal for American buyers to buy paper products that are not proven to be sustainable. But they get around that, because our government allows China to provide the data. Which is of course a complete lie.
The American government also allowed the entire paper industry in America to be brought down to it's knees trying to compete with Chinese paper that was illegally being dumped. By the time our government stopped it, it was too late. 317 paper mills in the U.S. permanently closed after the 1990s. Over 75,000 jobs lost to Chinese dumping the markets.
