'Medicare is still on track to be insolvent in 2024 the same as last years findings a point that both parties are using to prep their campaign attack lines.
The Medicare trustees said in their annual report Monday that they expect the rate of spending growth to pick up from its historic lows spending that will be offset by cuts called for in the sequester. The hospital insurance trust fund, for Medicare Part A, would go broke in 2024. Some money would still come in from payroll taxes but not enough to cover all the bills.'
