I think the moderation is to strict on this board! Every tiny thing gets your thread closed, post deleted and even your account suspended. The member base of this board would probably be better off having less moderation. People here seem to be hard hitters that would offer better debate under more fight like debate styles.

Can we work towards that? No one should be suspended or have their thread closed because they're gay. can we all agree?

I don't think you should have to have links as long as you make an argument. Why should a topic within the topic board be closed? They closed my womb thread a few days ago because I didn't have links but I made a solid argument for my side and further into the thread I had at least 4-5 links in the replies.

If you're going to make an argument and START A THREAD ON IT, you have to have some kind of substance in that post. This forum would be a mess if everyone who wanted to start a thread with their opinion and nothing else, could do so.

If you want to make an argument without having to post a link to back it up, reply to an existing thread on the topic.

I normally reply to people within threads and generally stay ontopic, but the moderation because it isn't quite to their standard come down sometimes on me. It isn't fair to judge based on the op post when the direction of the thread has shifted to a slightest different area but still generally in the direction. Far too strict. I've been suspended a few times for this.

Also the flame zone isn't a free for all. I got suspended for like half a year for talking about sex a few years ago. It isn't fair. It is invisible to kids and is for adults and is generally thought of as free for all. It is misleading.

Actually a thread can be started with only an opinion, as long as it made clear that what it is. But if in that process you claim something is a fact and not opinion, that's when a link is required by Site Wide Rules and Guidelines. If you want to have a knock down drag out start is this area:
