I think Russia wouldn't be much of a threat if it wasn't for their nukes. They hardly can fight a war, therir military almost can't move troops a few hundred miles against another military and there air force sucks. This war has taught us that todays russian military isn't even 1/10th of what it was 50 years ago. It isn't a threat to Nato conventionally.
Russia has 5 times as many people
A much bigger economy
Everyone thought it would be over in weeks and Ukraine would be owned by russia. I'd go as far as to suggest that 18th century russian army accounting for less advance tech was probably more capable and certainly the one that fought Napoleon.
Putin deserves to be hung and may well end up being hung as his military is probably too weak to protect him from any real uprising by the russian people.
