Getting out of Afghanistan had short term possibilities ranging from the current government holding & the Afghan military showing to hold back the Taliban to an immediate collapse with the Taliban rushing in slaughtering all.

If the US had opted to get everyone out, closing their embassy, pulling out all Americans and those Afghans who helped us prior to pulling our military, we would send the signal that the Afghani government would fail along with their military, guaranteeing Taliban takeover.

Although they knew that the government could eventually collapse, they thought it would take a year or so.

At least the Taliban is allowing these evacuations & we will see how they will govern now that they see how good things can be with world acceptance.

Competition is a good motivator for us humanoids

The problem with that outlook is that the window for any improvements is rapidly closing. The evidence of that is the looting of what little is left of our economic system. These trillions of dollars aren't going to be spent the way anyone thinks they are. Once the kickbacks and bribes are executed, the dollar will be well on its way to total collapse.

If we don't see hyper-inflation within a year, I'll be amazed. Look for a collapse of the dollar, then a cascading failure in the global economy. After that, the chaos will be left unchecked, especially here at home, for months at least while cities burn and people starve while killing each other. Once the survivors have endured enough to quell any thoughts of resistance, uncle sugar, whatever he calls himself, will arrive as the savior of all. One currency, one Federal government structure that will wield power over all the global regions, is what's coming.

Marines are very good at what they were designed to do....and should be honored for doing it and making the sacrifices that are too often required of them......irregardless.....they should stay out of politics....as in due to their suffering from the horrors of war it tends in many cases to make them very jaded regarding anything requiring the supreme sacrifice....very understandable.

Nevertheless.....as most should know by now.....freedom is not free. If we are to maintain our liberties we need these guys that are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect our liberties.
