After having met a number of killers sentenced to death and actually attending an execution i have my own criteria. The death penalty belongs to those who enjoy the act of killing. Once killing becomes a source of pleasure they cannot be rehabilitated, they must be put down like any rabid animal.

As bad as Tyler Robinson is, I do not see the enjoyment of the act.

It is not the psychology of the individual offender that determines the penalty, it is the definition of the applicable laws. In this case, if there is capital punishment for murder in that jurisdiction, then Tyler's crime fits the definition. Arguments about such penalties are another matter. Certainly, killing another person merely for something that he said is not tolerable. Short of being able to prove insanity, such a killer is subject to whatever maximum penalty is provided.

Then keep him in isolation in a tiny cell. The death penalty is such an easy way out and foregoes decades of possible torture. Here's an idea, keep him in complete isolation and pump in audio of every Charlie Kirk speech 24/7. At some point he will begin to realize he killed a great man and then will have to live the rest of his life with the guilt of killing him. The minute he realizes Charlie Kirk and MAGA were right, then switch the audio to every speech Kamala Harris ever made. Now that is torture. Imagine having to listen to her cacklings for 20+ years.
