Those of us who grew up working from a young age have a completely different view of work than many (not all) of the younger generations. I get the increase in mental illness thing but there is just a sense of entitlement to free money and stuff that was considered demeaning to us. I remember my GrandFather telling me the stories of him and my Grandma raising 3 kids on a foreman's salary. I still hear him saying "You know what Mike, we never took a dime from anyone that we didn't earn."
