In the final days of the Roman Empire they elected a horse to the Senate. At least they elected the entire horse. The state of political dialogue is senseless these days. Screechy offensive speech is celebrated whether it has a substantive point or not. Both sides engage in it. They are encouraged by The populace who say it gives voice to their frustrations. We don't just tolerate it, we blur it with reality TV and crave it. But like heroin we need more and more and will ultimately overdose.
