Well maybe if you were open and honest enough to realize the truth about Barack Obama and his past and his ways and his associations and his ineptness and his cowardliness and his phoniness is not to be found by watching Fox News, you might get my drift.

If you also realized the mainstream media has an agenda and will never expose just how bad of a president we have, just how godless and immoral of a culture we breed, and just how dire our future and our souls now rest, then, maybe then, you will get my drift.

Oh I see you want a religious state in place of a state that allowes people to pick their own beliefs.

Democracy in the United States

A significant further development of democracy occurred with the establishment of the United States. The political principles of liberal democracy that were worked out over the centuries in England and articulated by the philosophers Locke, Hume, and Montesquieu were inherited by the United States and embodied in its Constitution. Having a constitution that described functions and limited the political institutions was a novel innovation. The founding fathers who framed the Constitution wanted to establish institutions that could preserve liberty and prevent the excessive growth of government, which was seen as the chief threat to liberty. So the United States Constitution set down the framework for government with checks and balances based on the separation of powers, so that no institution or person would have absolute power. To further limit the reach of government and protect people's liberties, the founding fathers produced a Bill of Rights, a series of amendments to the Constitution. It was adopted in 1788, and provided for an elected government through representatives, and it protected the civil rights and liberties of all except slaves. This exception came to haunt the new republic. Although not described as a "democracy" by its founding fathers, today it is the model many people aspire too.

what exactly do you dislike about obama?

I do not have the time to elaborate so just two items for now:

The way he lied continuously to the nation about Benghazi. The way he thought it more important to fly off to Las Vegas and buddy-up with his sychophants than deal with this national crisis. The way he and his cronies covered up the whole affair as though it was some small matter. The way the mainstream media and CONGRESS have given him and Hillary a free pass on all this.

I also despise how he ignores the black problem in our major cities including horrific gang violence, fear in all the children who live there, it’s gross unemployment, the immoral culture rife with mostly unwed mothers, etc. What a leader.

No, I don’t really have much good to say about republicans in congress either if that makes you feel better.

You can smoke enough marijuana so that you just don't care any more. That might help. It's the democrat solution.

Pot makes one freak out (now that we are older) and not what you are suggesting.

But I am on the verge of "just not caring" I admit. I have just enough left in me to give it all to my family and leave the rest to God.

I am not here to try to "one up" the competition on clever barbs.

I'm not commenting on whether the barb was clever or not. I'm commenting on your statement that "we," or at least some segment of "we," reelected a President embodying those negative traits. My question is, what was the other option? There wasn't one. Romney and Obama were the only choices, and they both embody those qualities. Complaining about it makes no sense.

But every time I hear our president speak (like yesterday) I become so disenchanted (read: terrified) with our world, and our nation, and our future.

To the American voters: How could you possibly have re-elected such a phony, coward and inept leader?

“When I was a boy I was told that anybody could become President; I'm
beginning to believe it.”

~Quoted in 'Clarence Darrow for the Defense' by Irving Stone.

--------------------------------------------

Not to mention congress is a joke – both parties. (borderline evil)

Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds
from the rich, by promising to protect each from the other.

~Oscar Ameringer, "the Mark Twain of American Socialism."

I could've posted this exact same thing in 2005.

And still you voted for him in 2012.

Maybe the public is the bigger concern than our politicians?

I don't blame Obama for his socialistic, anti-capitalist, evil wealthy attitude that as
An analysis by Gallup earlier this year revealed that Mr. Obama has been the most polarizing occupant of the Oval Office in the past 60 years.
Obama's Fourth Year in Office Ties as Most Polarized Ever

I blame the MSM.
When 85% of the press DONATED money to the Democrat/Obama campaign you should look at this factor!
"Senior executives, on-air personalities, producers, reporters, editors, writers and other self-identifying employees of ABC, CBS and NBC contributed
more than $1 million to Democratic candidates and campaign committees in 2008, according to an analysis by The Examiner of data compiled by the
Center for Responsive Politics.

The Democratic total of $1,020,816 was given by 1,160 employees of the three major broadcast television networks, with an average contribution of $880.

By contrast, only 193 of the employees contributed to Republican candidates and campaign committees, for a total of $142,863.
The average Republican contribution was $744.

Obama, Democrats got 88 percent of 2008 contributions by TV network execs, writers, reporters | The Daily Caller

Now If 1,160 (85%) of 1,353 employees of ABC,CBS & NBC gave $1.02 million (88%) to Democrats do you think these donors are stupid?
If you don't think they are stupid, then do you think they wanted the Democrats to win?
If they want them to win would they put news favorable or unfavorable to democrats i.e. Obama? Duh!!!
FACTS:
In 1964, 94% of media professionals voted for Democrat Lyndon Johnson over Republican Barry Goldwater.
In 1968, 86% voted for Democrat Hubert Humphrey over Republican Richard Nixon.
In 1972, 81% voted for Democrat George McGovern over the incumbent Nixon.
In 1976, 81% voted for Democrat Jimmy Carter over Republican Gerald Ford.
In 1980, twice as many cast their ballots for Carter rather than for Republican Ronald Reagan.
In 1984, 58% supported Democrat Walter Mondale, whom Reagan defeated in the biggest landslide in presidential election history.
In 1988, White House correspondents from various major newspapers, television networks, magazines, and news services supported Democrat Michael Dukakis over Republican George H.W. Bush by a ratio of 12-to-1.
In 1992, those same correspondents supported Democrat Bill Clinton over the incumbent Bush by a ratio of 9 to 2.
Among Washington bureau chiefs and congressional correspondents, the disparity was 89% vs. 7%, in Clinton’s favor.
In a 2004 poll of campaign journalists, those based outside of Washington, DC supported Democrat John Kerry over Republican George W. Bush by a ratio of 3-to-1. Those based inside the Beltway favored Kerry by a 12-to-1 ratio.
In a 2008 survey of 144 journalists nationwide, journalists were 8 times likelier to make campaign contributions to Democrats than to Republicans.
A 2008 Investors Business Daily study put the campaign donation ratio at 11.5-to-1, in favor of Democrats. In terms of total dollars given, the ratio was 15-to-1.
Research on Media Bias - Discover the Networks

So face this fact that the MSM as this example shows ignores the failures of Obama. Promotes the causes i.e. gun control, anti-marriage, for abortion stories!
So when you read:
Well, our job is to bash the president, that's what we do." --
Evan Thomas responding to a question on whether the media's unfair to Bush on the TV talk show Inside Washington,
February 2, 2007.Newsweek's Evan Thomas: 'Our Job Is To Bash the President' | NewsBusters

OK Mr. Thomas that sounds about right - FAIR and Balanced Right ! Objective reporting!

So what about Obama this same Bush Bashing Editor of NewsWeek.... Evan Thomas calls Obama god!

I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God."
Evan Thomas on Hardball, June 5, 2009.
Newsweek?s Evan Thomas: Obama Is ?Sort of God? | NewsBusters

Where is the MSM Obama bashing???

Let's just say I did not give it enough sincere thought to come to that conclusion.

Once you said we had no choice between Obama and Romney you kind of lost me.

I guess my opinion of Barack Obama is so low, Romney would have been an Abraham Lincoln compared to him. Yes, I believe that.

I am pretty jaded about Washington politics, however, not to have hopes they can make this world a great place for mankind, but I do believe some are bigger cowards and phonies and opportunists than others. I believe Obama has lied to this nation and the public so out of touch with reality (read: God) they are dumb enough and willing enough to believe him.

I mean, it'd be pretty difficult to find any issue where Romney and Obama fundamentally disagree. Sure they talked about how they disagree, but if you're really jaded then you don't listen to what they say. Looking at what Romney did as Governor, and what Obama has done as President, would Romney have been any different? Not really. Maybe spent a couple thousand less, but he would have spent regardless. The wars may have been worse under Romney. And there's no way he was going to repeal Obamacare, especially not with the Supreme Court's ruling and the Senate being in the hands of the Democrats. Wasn't going to happen.

Here is a bit more:

I am greatly disturbed by Obama’s many years in the Reverend Wright’s company, his mentor in his own admission in his book. Barack is the most suspect of Christians, IMO.

I am greatly disturbed by all the corrupt company he has kept all these years --- Michelle Malkin’s “Culture of Corruption” book does a good job detailing that.

I depised all his appointments to offices that avoided congressional approval, in retrospect mostly dishonest disreputable people.

I heavily oppose his love for abortion and planned parenthood. What an evil.

I heavily oppose his embracing gay marriage because there are spiritual ramifications when a society embraces immorality so formally. (Note the MSM never called him on being opposed to it in his campaign --- what a reed in the wind.)

Obamacare will be a pox on this nation. IMO.

I think he is a total coward dealing in foreign affairs, appeases fanatic Muslims.

The way he has dealt with Israel is a national disgrace. Of course liberals are far too clueless to understand this.

The list is much longer….

If you're worried about people hanging around corrupt individuals then politics generally may not be for you.

Why didn't Republicans do anything about abortion or Planned Parenthood when they controlled the Presidency and the House and the Senate under Bush? Simple: They don't actually care about those issues, and they're more useful to run against than actually changing.

You think Romney or the Republicans are going to do anything regarding gay marriage? They've lost that argument and it's going in the same category as abortion. Something to run against, but ultimately nothing to be done about.

Appeasing muslims by bombing them ceaselessly and killing innocent civilians?
