I do believe that we're supposed to use PEMDAS here but I'm not sure how to get the final answer. It's:

3x3-3÷3+3

Now according to PEMDAS you would multiply 3x3 and get nine and three divided by three is one, three plus three equals six and finally three minus three is zero but is that what we're even supposed to do here because I don't know how to get the final answer. 🤔

Certainly! Let’s break down the expression step by step:

  1. Multiply 3 by 3:
    3×3=9
  2. Divide 3 by 3:
    3/3=1
  3. Subtract 1 from 9:
    9−1=8
  4. Add 3 to 8:
    8+3=11

Therefore, the result of the expression is 11. 😊

3 times 3 equals 9 minus 3 equals 6 divided by 3 equals 2 plus 3 equals 5.

God bless you always!!!

P.S. Did I do it right?

We call it BEDMAS in Canada Brackets, Exponents, Division/Multiplication, Add/Subtract.

I have seen these problems worked both ways--logically as a basic math people do it to get 5 as an answer and using the advanced math formulas those use to get the 11 answer. Which is right? I don't know as my brain doesn't work very well in advanced math. :)

I used to post these kinds of things in the Coffee Shop but the math people never came to the same conclusion as us basic math people:

the answer is 11.....

I see...

3x3 = 9, 9-3 = 6, 6÷3 = 2, 2+3 = 5

I have 5 as the answer.

5 is the answer.

3x3=9 -3 =6 divided by 3 =2 +3 = 5

3 times 3 equals 9 minus 3 equals 6 divided by 3 equals 2 plus 3 equals 5.

God bless you always!!!

So I take it that we're not using PEMDAS then because if we were division would come before subtraction.

There seems to be a conflict between five and eleven here with all of the answers so far.

LOL. It is to me. :)

Me too as math wasn't ever a good subject for me obviously.

I see...

3x3 = 9, -3 = 6, ÷3 = 2, +3 = 5

I have 5 as the answer.

So another five answer. This is getting interesting.

So is it five or eleven guys? I'm confused. 😕

How's that and I'm still confused how people are getting 11. I get 5 if we're not doing PEMDAS but I'm not sure where the 11 is coming from. Then again I was in special education so I held my own but I'm not as advanced as most of you on here.

Its 5. I dont know about pemdas and all that, but when you put those symbols together with no spaces, that minus symbol works exactly the same as the rest. You cant say that the minus symbol has special rules when it is presented like it is in the OP. Its a very basic and obvious sequence of math.

Another contribution to the Chaos project .

They simply confuse you by not stating at the outset the exact rules and / or priorities of computational order .

Idiots will alight on one order and then defend it ad infinitum .
It's just one of many games they push on the Sheeple to exert stress .

PEMDAS is Parentheses, Multiplication, Division, Addition and Subtraction in that order. The only one I forgot is what the E is supposed to stand for.
