I don't know how the midterms will turn out.

Who knows how much of an impact the devastating evidence of Trump's criminality regarding the attempted coup will have? Or the participation of Repub members of Congress. Or the refusal of former Trump admin members to testify (though most have).
I don't know how many voters will be influenced by the Repubs responsibility for the very unpopular ruling by the SC to take away a woman's right to make reproductive decisions for herself.
It's a mystery as to whether bipartisan outrage over the Senate Repubs blockage of a bill to provide care for vets exposed to harmful chemicals during their time in service will effect how people vote.

But I do know Dems have better candidates.

For example, JD Vance thinks women should stay in abusive relationships.

Doug Mastriano is a straight up ass clown.

Then there's Herschel Walker. Yikes!

6 Awful GOP Candidates Who Could Save the Democratic Senate

The influence of Trump on the former GOP, now the POT (party of Trump), and the candidates it is running for office.......a collection of conspiracy theorists, QAnon believers, whack jobs, unqualified hacks, Trump acolytes, and deniers of reality........may be the saving grace for the country by preventing them from gaining power.

J6 is boring, old news. What's important is runaway inflation.
Trump isn't on the ballot in November, Biden is.
"Its the economy stupid"

You'll see the results of the mid-terms in November.

I think you have a case of wishful thinking.

Set yourself up for disappointment....it's coming.
It's very possible, no denying that. Just as there is no denying the quality of Repub candidates is poor. That's a reflection of the state of the party. One that's increasingly being influenced by the Crazy.

All of the Prog advances and they are still embittered much of it for no reason. The advances need to be streamlined with the excesses and bloviating corrupted rulers put into a logical solution. We live with dictators now.

When you wrote that did it actually strike you as a cogent, well thought out comment? Just curious.

You might retain the Senate but you are losing the House, so let me be clear if you lose the House then your side life just got harder.

People care more about their pocketbook than Trump attempt to become dictator or that women might be limited or even denied in some states for abortion…

Just reality…

Ok....first off it politicians.
Politicians are slimey....they have issues with moral turpitude to begin with. Regardless of which side of the political spectrum they are on.

When you talk about quality of candidates
It's like trying to pick which piece of feces is less offensive while looking at a cesspool.

Yes, you do.

You just don't want to admit it.
Is JD Vance, who apparently thinks women who are being beaten should stay with their partner, the kind of person who should be a US senator?

Are there any Dem candidates who believe this?
Isn't it a false equivalence to lump all pols together?

You are losing. That's it. The end.
I certainly understand why you don't want to discuss the candidates the POT is running.

Doug Mastriano, the Republican nominee for governor of Pennsylvania, has come under fire from critics for ties to a right-wing social media platform whose founder has said there is no room for Jews, atheists and others in the conservative movement.

Oh please!
Just because someone tells you what you want to hear and occasionally throws a chewed bone in your direction doesn't mean they are a honest person.

Is that a defense of what Vance said?

Doug Mastriano, Christian Nationalism, and the Cult of the AR-15

The Republican nominee for Pennsylvania governor has ties to a gun-worshiping sect. But the real scandal is just how common many of their beliefs have become on the right.

Mastriano’s résumé hits all the main points of today’s bog-standard MAGA candidate template. He’s an insurrectionist who ginned up enthusiasm for the attempted coup as a featured speaker for Jericho March’s rally in December 2020 before participating—by his own admission—in the “Stop the Steal” rally on January 6, 2021. (He bused Trump supporters to Washington and although he claimed that he and his wife did not cross police lines at the U.S. Capitol, they were caught on video doing just that.) The House Jan. 6th Committee subpoenaed him for being part of a plan to send pro-Trump electors to Congress, and he responded with loyal silence.

Mastriano also has an increasingly familiar religious profile. He has described the Gulf War, in which he served in 1991, as a “holy” war—a belief reflected in his bizarre 2002 graduate thesis, “Nebuchadnezzar’s Sphinx.” He has attended events of the Charismatic Christian dominionist movement known as the New Apostolic Reformation. He shares anti-Muslim memes, hangs out with militia members to guard Confederate statues at Gettysburg, and constantly hits all the main themes of Christian nationalist discourse in his speeches and other activities. In one particularly tasteless moment, he announced his gubernatorial candidacy while wearing a tallit and blowing a shofar—symbols that Christian nationalists have appropriated from the Jewish tradition and use to declare apocalyptic spiritual war.
