Obviously, some people have a sick sense of humor, and let their partisanship get in the way of plain old common sense! This is a very common phenomenon on internet forums.

Do they think we are like Superman? Or are they like 12-year-olds who will say, "Oh, that can't happen here!" Well, why not? It would only take a few people infected to spread it. When we KNEW we had a case or two of Ebola coming in, did you see the precautions they took? The victims were covered in plastic and the attendants were wearing haz mat suits! It's highly contagious and spreads rapidly. Anyone who would underestimate it is an idiot.

That is not to say that we should "hide in our basement," but that we should take common sense precautions.
