I saw a video the other day of Elon Musk apparently dressing up as a homeless person and going to a fancy restaurant in New Mexico where the wealthy hang out. He wanted to see how he'd be treated. Everyone looked at him with disgust in their eyes (and some made hateful comments) except the waitress who served him.

You can find this video, maybe on You Tube. I will try to find it. I am a skeptical person so at first I wondered if the story was true, but I think if it was not true, the person making the vid might get sued?

Elon has just made the VALID point that NGOs profit off homelessness. They're supposed to spend the money on the downtrodden but the money apparently ends up in some rich person's pocket.. something I've suspected for years, and I'm sure is true...

When I was a kid I swore that I would one day be wealthy.

My future idea was to pretend I was homeless and have a panhandle bowl out and for anyone who gave me money I would hand out $100 to them.

Those dreams have been dashed but I keep the Faith.

The claim that NGOs "profit off homelessness" is generally false; most non-governmental organizations (NGOs) dedicated to helping the homeless are structured as non-profit entities, meaning they are not designed to generate personal profit for their founders or staff, and any funds they receive are primarily used to provide services to those experiencing homelessness.

Key points to consider:
  • Non-profit structure:
NGOs working with the homeless are typically registered as non-profits, which means their primary goal is to serve the community, not generate profit.

  • Funding sources:
Funding for homeless NGOs usually comes from donations, grants, and government contracts, which are used to cover operational costs like staff salaries, shelter maintenance, and program services.

  • Ethical concerns:
The idea of profiting from homelessness is widely considered unethical, and most reputable NGOs would face significant public backlash if they were found to be doing so.

However, potential areas of concern can exist:
  • Administrative costs:
While not directly profiting, some NGOs might face criticism if a large portion of their funds are spent on administrative costs rather than direct services to homeless individuals.
  • Mismanagement:
In rare cases, poor management practices within an NGO could lead to misuse of funds, potentially impacting the effectiveness of their services to the homeless population.

It would not surprise me. What better way to fit in among people unrecognized.

Trump once spent the day working as a maid in one of his hotels cleaning rooms and changing bed sheets. Another time he worked the position of some other menial task for a day. He did it just so he could really understand what it is like to do the work that a lot of people in this country (and under him) really do! That is how Trump relates to the common people!

Growing up, he used to sit and talk to the construction workers at his dad's apartment construction sites asking their ideas and opinions figuring who better to know how to do the stuff best than the actual people doing the work!

Thread summary:

The stories that commies told about Chairmain Mao and DearLeader Kim now pale in comparison to the legends that Trump cultists believe about DearLeader and Elmo.

Because cult.

All or most of my dreams have been dashed also and I also keep the Faith, which is the Catholic Faith, the one Christ instituted. However, the Church is divided into 3 parts these days, each one having some truth but also some.. imperfections. The Sedevacantists are the ones who are correct on what exactly happened to the Vatican (not other Catholic places, just the Vatican. A lot of non-Vatican Churches have adhered to the Truth of Christ, but not the Vatican). Anyway, it's complicated. And yet all things complicated to humans are very simple to God.. (and also to humans who study such things in depth)

Don't the majority of the "homeless" fit the description of crazy?
Majority means nothing to those who seek truth. Truth is often rejected out of hand by sinners who just want to continue their life of sin.. telling themselves there is no Hell, not really caring whether that is, or at least could be, true... It's really disturbing.. people not caring about their eternal destiny
