I asked AI about my nightime leg cramps.

They sell these at Walgreens, I get leg cramps from walking/cycling and I have been looking for these (looked yesterday) but none of the stores had them, and most employees had no idea where in the store they are supposed to be.

That's going to be quinine. It doesn't work for me. It seems there's people quinine works for, and those that need salt, water, and potassium instead.
V-8, OJ, or nanners work for me.
40 miles a day is a lot of cycling. All you need is 20-30 mins.

I get leg cramps at night. I am 78 and have been riding my bicycle 40 miles a day. I ride that many miles because I discovered long ago that anything less doesn't do much. I went to AI and asked about my leg cramps. I told the machine that I drink filtered water and it told me that is not a good idea because minerals and elctrolites are absent for the most part. I also told it that I take a multi vitamin and Co Q10. It said ok with that but recommended that I stagger them at different times because one will possibly nullify the other. I told the machine that I ride every day and it told me to try every other day to enhance recovery. It said I could ride 50 miles every other day and add a pinch of salt to my water. I get the same result now with fewer leg cramps. I am 5'5 and weigh 130 pounds. I did what the machine said and have not gained weight and still have some cramping but they are less severe. I like AI at the moment.

I mix 2 Tbsp of ACV with 8 oz. warm water. You can add honey if you want, as its healthy too, but you don't need to, it tastes fine.

Beet tops are a better source of potassium.

Beet tops (beet greens) contain significantly more potassium per serving than a banana. One cup of cooked beet greens can have about 1,309 mg of potassium, while a medium banana provides roughly 375 mg of potassium.myfooddata+1

MDR's of various nutrients are an attempt to compensate for poor dietary choices. Same with calories. People need fewer calories than recommended. The irony is that more calories are used by the body to overcome the burden of overeating those calories in the first place. Same with nutrients. More are needed to replace those wasted by overeating. A good example is a poorly tuned car needing more gas to function than a well-tuned car. The sticker will eventually read the lower mileage figure, just like the 2000 calorie figure. Another example is a fat person needing more calories to move his or her overweight body around.

Back to MDR's. If one attempted to satisfy these requirements through foods, they would soon be a candidate for "My 600 Pound Life."

I was going to start fasting at 11:00.
Not today! :dunno:

A hot toddy is a warm, classic alcoholic cocktail typically made with whiskey, honey, and lemon juice, topped with hot water.

It is a popular drink for cold weather and is often used as a home remedy to soothe cold and flu symptoms, particularly a sore throat.

The hardest thing about fasting is in your mind, your body not so much.
I really never have, and think it's time I started.
Used to always have an almost double metabolism, though. Well, not anymore.

Leg cramps at your age is a sign of circulation problems.
It can be but I had this issue many years ago as a middle distance runner. In the late 1970's to mid 80's I could run a 10k in 30 minutes. I got leg cramps then too.

There's no minimum time limit for a fast. It can be as little as missing one meal. However, there is minimum time limit for a 'complete' fast, which requires the complete shutdown of the digestive system so all your 'vital force' can be used for housecleaning. Normally 75 percent of this vital force is used for digestion alone. This force must be redirected in order to do its thing. This usually means complete abstinence from foods for about three days. This is because even if you stop eating now there are several previous meals being processed by the digestive system which could take two days or more. As soon as this is completed the body goes to work repairing itself in earnest using all of its vital energy. This can be shortened by eating smaller or fewer meals leading up to the fast, depending of course on your need for food as per job, etc.

40 miles a day is a pretty hefty workout.

I'm 78 and like you I have these things attached to my chromosomes called telomeres. As they get shorter things begin to change. We all have expiration dates. I am cool with that.

I told the machine that I drink filtered water and it told me that is not a good idea because minerals and electrolytes are absent for the most part.
The 'minerals' lost by purifying water are largely dissolved inorganic minerals mostly worthless to the body, and the amounts are insignificant as well and easily provided organically from foods.

Also, if it is of any comfort to anyone, processed foods are loaded with water containing dissolved inorganic minerals.
