HW Bush broke his central campaign promise, as did Trump with the wall, Trump will also serve 1 term

You cons are delirious. Bush raised taxes during a recession. After taxes were raised, the economy improved and we came out of the recession in March, 1991, nearly 2 years before Bush left office.

GDP:
1990Q4 -3.6 <-- tax hike, 11/1990
1991Q1 -1.9
1991Q2 3.2
1991Q3 2.0
1991Q4 1.4
1992Q1 4.9
1992Q2 4.4
1992Q3 4.0
1992Q4 4.2 <-- what you called, "economic downturn"

Then Clinton came in, raised taxes more, and the economy soared.
And now Trump has cut taxes, and the economy soared.

Mexico is not going to pay it after it’s built if they don’t pay for it before it’s built.
That is an idiotic statement, which you have no evidence for whatsoever, and you have no possible way to ever have evidence for it. LOL.

Not when you account for inflation.

Nothing is going to get trump re elected. He lost the unions and other blue collar workers that believed his lies.

Women are gone, and kids are up in arms after having refused to vote in '16. Not to worry, he can still do plenty of lasting damage before he's put into prison
Sounds similar to what liberals were saying in the summer of 2016. Poor souls.

Not when you account for inflation.
Excuse me ? You're saying the economy has not soared since Trump took over ? You realize every liberal publication in America concedes the booming Trump economy. But if you choose to be a lone dissenter, no law against it.

Oddly enough, I have as much evidence, if not more, than you regarding your claim the Mexico will pay for the wall.

The fallacy with this report is its use of the word "your", which for me would transpose to "my". Well, "my" is all I care about. I don't care about people who are dumb enough to live in places like New York City and San Francisco where they pay ludicrous amounts of money for just about everything.

Your link factors in things that don't concern the average person, and have no effect on us. If I live in Tuscon, AZ where 1 bedrooms apts are $612/mo, what do I care if there are idiots paying $3,400/mo for a 1 bedroom in San Francisco, ?...where I wouldn't live if it were free.

So the inflation you are talking about is National inflation, which has no effect on anyone except those who are stupid. Sure, things will always be bad if you're stupid. Solution: don't be stupid.

Here’s What an Average Apartment Costs in 50 US Cities

So you're comparing "read my lips no new taxes"---to I am going to build a 1000 mile wall that Mexico is going to pay for I assume.

But it wasn't really taxes that gave GHW just a 1st term The economy turned on him, unemployment numbers rose. Bush Sr. was only the 2nd President in this nations history that followed a sitting President (Ronald Reagan into office.) The phrase after GHW lost was ("it's the economy stupid") that's where that phrase came from. .Bush Sr. is well respected in this country. He was a very kind, thoughtful President, and was coming down off a very high approval rating after the Gulf war. But the economy turned and enter Bill Clinton.

The Clinton's and the Bush's remain close friends. It's evident in their comments toward each other. Barbara Bush often referred to Bill Clinton as her 3rd son, and Bill Clinton stated he would would walk across hot coals barefoot if Barbara Bush wanted him too. It's was evident when the 1st lady's were together, Hillary Clinton would always stand close to Barbara Bush--even helping her in her old age walk around so she didn't stumble and fall.

In fact Bush Sr. & Barbara both voted for Hillary Clinton. They couldn't stand Donald Trump.
George H.W. Bush to vote for Hillary Clinton

Barbara Bush's comments toward Trump.

George Bush Sr. & Barbara were married for 73 YEARS!

Bush Sr. is one of the best Presidents of the 20th century. He insisted that other countries pay for the Gulf war, when Sadam invaded Kuwait, and they did. He worked with Hillary Clinton to put a huge dent in defeating aids in Africa. He had honor, respect & dignity--something that is sorely lacking in the partisan political world we live in today, that has created this great divide in this country.

Very honorable man, and coming out the Greatest Generation WW2

THE WALL BEING BUILT SLOWLY FOR NOW!
National Review ^

The U.S. government is currently installing sections of Trump’s 30-foot-high wall in three places.

The good news for those who wish to see a wall built along the U.S.–Mexican border is that U.S. Customs and Border Protection has built seven miles of 30-foot-high wall in the past few months, and roughly 30 more miles of high fencing are slated for construction.

The bad news is that there’s still a lot of border to go.

New reports from Carlos Diaz, southwest branch chief of the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, indicate that one of the three current wall projects is nearly complete, another is about a quarter of the way done, and one just began earlier this month.

The first border-wall construction project began in February near downtown Calexico, Calif., roughly 120 miles east of San Diego. Here, construction contractor SWF Constructors, of Omaha, Neb., is putting up a 30-foot high “bollard-style wall” to replace 2.25 miles of wall built in the 1990s out of recycled scraps of metal and steel plates. (The bollard style uses bars, so that border patrol officers can see through to the other side.)

When construction began, the agency stated, “Although the existing wall has proven effective at deterring unlawful cross border activity, smuggling organizations damaged and breached this outdated version of a border wall several hundred times during the last two years, resulting in costly repairs.” When construction began, David Kim, assistant chief patrol agent for the Border Patrol’s El Centro sector, emphasized to local media that the construction was not tied to any particular immigration debate in Washington. It was, he said, a “local tactical infrastructure project that was planned for quite some time.”

This wall project, estimated to cost about $18 million, is approaching completion, with roughly 1.8 miles — 1,171 panels –...

They're repairing existing walls. This is really a dead issue. If you can't get a full house of Republicans to fund a 1000 mile wall--the odds of getting a Democrat congress to fund it is ZERO TO NONE, especially with polls showing that the overwhelming majority don't want a wall.

It was Trump that continually promised that Mexico would pay for it. Now if you believed that one, you must be pretty stupid--because the Mexican President had told Trump publicly to fuck off on this at least 3 times--(before the election.)

Donald Trump has vowed that there will be a wall on the United States’ border with Mexico if and when he is president — “100 percent,” as he put it to Sean Hannity on Tuesday. But the percentage of Americans backing the edifice in a new Pew Research Center study on attitudes about immigration released Thursday is far lower: 36 percent. More than six in 10 — 61 percent — of the thousands of adults surveyed, said they oppose the construction of a wall along the entire border with Mexico, as Trump has proposed throughout his campaign. And 34 percent of voters identifying themselves as Republican or leaning toward the GOP said they opposed the wall, with 63 percent supporting.
Pew study: Majority of Americans still oppose Trump's wall

One of the main reasons Americans will not support a wall is because it won't work. In this 2-1/2 minute video, toward the end you'll see all of the tunnels that are easily dug underneath on existing fences & walls.

A 1000 mile wall would have a 1000 tunnels underneath it as soon as it was built. It would end up being the most expensive, laughable boondoggle in this nation's history.

The only way to secure the border is with more border patrol stations and the use of high tech motion detectors. Something they can see, can and will always be compromised, something they can't see won't even be attempted.

The Deficit
Wanna talk deficit soaring ? OK. here are the biggest deficit increases (other than the World War II years), over the past 90 years >>

2009 - 9.8%

2010 - 8.6%

2011 - 8.3%

In contrast, 2017, was 3.4%

Is the U.S. Budget Deficit Really That Bad?

And no, the economy was NOT soaring before the tax cuts. Before the tax cuts was 2016, when the (Obama) economy was sinking.

Foolish liberals talk about Mexico not paying for the wall, when it was never thought to be paid for by Mexico until after its built. At which time, Mexico will have no way to avoid it.

Congress holds the purse strings dumbass, not the military. The military cannot make a decision to fund the wall out ot their budget without congressional approval.

"Reagan destroyed the economy". LOL!

I swear you Moon Bats get more idiotic every day.

Increased taxes are never necessary. What is necessary is decreased spending. A concept you stupid Moon Bats never have understood, have you?

To correct your confusion

Read my lips: no new taxes - Wikipedia

The line later hurt Bush politically. Although he did oppose the creation of new taxes as president, the Democratic-controlled Congress proposed increases of existing taxes as a way to reduce the national budget deficit. Bush negotiated with Congress for a budget that met his pledge, but was unable to make a deal with a Senate and House that was controlled by the opposing Democrats. Bush agreed to a compromise, which increased several existing taxes as part of a 1990 budget agreement.[1]

Bush did increase tax, which in turn caused an economic downturn during his last few months of his administration.

Bush lost because he abandoned Conservative principles. He was a Progressive just like the filthy ass Democrats and he paid for it. Many Conservatives voted for an alternative and that is what gave that asshole Slick Willy the plurality win.

Trump is doing everything he can to stop the shithead Illegals from overrunning our country. The dipshit Democrat don't want to stop it because those are the future Democrat voters.
It's clear that you weren't around during Reaganomics. Bush had no choice but to raise taxes in order to pay for the taxpayer funded S&L bailout. Reagan did what all Republicans do. He shifted the tax burden onto the middle class, and created a stock market that only aided the wealthy. His deregulation created a disaster, and Bush paid during his tenure.

Obama might have suffered a similar fate, had Bush's policies not come to fruition just before the election. Thankfully, Bush took full blame for the coming of post Reaganomics 2.0

I was around during Reaganomics and the country enjoyed a nearly unprecedented prosperity. Kennedy advocated tax cuts to get the economy moving. In a speech to the Economic Club of NY, he said "In short, it is a paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high today and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise the revenues in the long run is to cut the rates now. The experience of a number of European countries and Japan have borne this out. This country's own experience with tax reduction in 1954 has borne this out. And the reason is that only full employment can balance the budget, and tax reduction can pave the way to that employment. The purpose of cutting taxes now is not to incur a budget deficit, but to achieve the more prosperous, expanding economy which can bring a budget surplus"

The economy did not start getting stronger until the last third of the Reagan tax cuts had taken effect.
