Just another sign of the bumbling, stumbling Biden [mal]adminsitration.

And if only we had a free press rather than the MSM which is nothing more than propagandists for the Democratic Party.

Jefferson Parish residents say they're still waiting for FEMA assistance one month after Hurricane Ida destroyed their homes

...

As of Friday morning, Jefferson Parish leaders said they had not received any of the long-term trailers requested immediately after the storm, despite dozens of residents still living in shelters.

FEMA does not expect the first long-term trailers to be delivered until mid to late November. However, the agency told Fox News it is paying for hotel stays for 1,661 Jefferson Parish households. FEMA also said it's providing rental assistance to help people relocate.

"These are people, especially if you didn't have insurance, you're going to want to rebuild your house, you want to be on your property," Cynthia Lee Sheng, the Jefferson Parish president, told Fox News. "You can't be in a hotel in another area of the state or another state altogether."

"And this is what people need to do is start reclaiming their lives by rebuilding their homes, and they need to be on their property to do that," Lee Sheng continued.

Lower Jefferson Parish is home to approximately 10,000 people, many of them commercial fishermen and local business owners.

Call me suspicious that people who didn't have insurance are all ready to rebuild out of pocket if they are still relying on the government to house them a month later.

Well, when your house is wrecked where do you live? FEMA is supposed to have trailers at the ready so those people can live in them while rebuilding their homes.

No, FEMA has temporary housing assistance that can include trailers or it can put people up in other housing, which it is already doing, for up to 18 months. IT is not FEMA's job to put them up forever wherever they so choose, and quite frankly, those fema trailers are not particularly safe places because of the high formaldehyde level in them.
