And yet you say nothing about the character of a criminal like Babbitt.
I give up, you people are nuts, you will attack any law-enforcement officer and say they should be in jail if they shoot a protester from a protest you don’t agree with. She should not have been shot, and I don’t want him in prison for the rest of his life. How hard is this to understand dumbass. It was a tense situation. People made mistakes, including him! But you didn’t agree with the protest so he’s good to go killing an unarmed woman.

It wasn’t a protest. It was a full on riot. The fact you can’t call it what it is reveals your prejudice.

So, if you truly believe that, you have nothing to fear from further investigation, right?
Of course not. Trump has fully embraced the idea that he can politicize and pervert the justice department.

Almost completely evacuated is not the same as completely evacuated.

You're right that the last door before the staff members was guarded by officers holding loaded weapons. Byrd was one of them. The reason the protestors didn't get past Byrd is because he shot Babbitt.

You're basically proving my point.
No, Byrd was at the door leading to the hallway where a SECOND door would have been between the protesters and the House floor...a door guarded by officers holding loaded weapons!

Stewart Rhodes should have probably not have been pardoned. I wonder if he will go after his family? Long read but this article is his 3 oldest kids being interviewed.. Seems he was a pretty abusive guy and way out there.

He told Babbitt to get back.
No he didn't. Lt. Byrd stepped out of hiding and without saying a word shot an unarmed woman at point blank range. He lied about that later...saying that he had issued a warning but we know that's a lie because there were multiple audio recordings that day and on none of them can Byrd be heard saying a word!

Testimony given to the investigators of eyewitnesses says otherwise. Were you there? Nope. They were. The audio from the records is towards the back of the angry loud mob, and so it's pretty reasonable that his commands would not be picked up in those recordings.

Apparently holding a loaded weapon isn't really all that relevant since you're saying it was a crime to use them on the unarmed protestors.

There is audio from a camera phone right beside the door...literally feet from where Byrd stepped into view. You can hear protesters warning there was someone with a gun...you hear nothing from Byrd...and then the shot that kills Babbitt. Byrd never issued a warning and then lied about it when he was questioned. Byrd lies about it because he knew he did something he shouldn't have.

It would be a crime if the officers inside of the House Chamber fired on protesters to keep them out of an empty room. It was without a doubt a crime to fire on an unarmed protester that was two doors away from a few members of the House or Staff that were being evacuated as that shot was being taken.

Wait, how did they know he had a gun if he was hiding and just lept out at the last second?

The recording is on the other side of the door, which obviously muffles the sound of his voice.

Wow, you're really splitting hairs.

Byrd comes in from the left with the gun extended...right in front of other protesters. Babbitt is to the right and probably never even saw Byrd. "...muffles the sound of his voice." Wait...you're claiming he issued a warning but said it so quietly it wasn't picked up by the cell phone cameras on the other side of the door? How many times have you seen video of Police issuing warnings, Marener? Have you ever seen them issue them quietly? EVER!!! They scream them! You KNOW that Byrd never issued a warning because if he had then it would have been audible!

Wow, you're really splitting hairs.
If the room was cleared what excuse would Capitol Police have to fire on anyone? The claim was always that Byrd had to fire that shot to protect members of Congress and that claim has ALWAYS been total crap!

Did Babbitt not hear the people screaming "he's got a gun"?

It was probably the last thing she did hear...right before Michael Byrd shot her at point blank range! What she DIDNT hear was a warning from Lt. Byrd to get back or he would shoot because that warning was never issued!
