The investigation showed otherwise, as they interviewed multiple officers around Byrd.The only warnings that were shouted were by other protesters who saw Byrd step out of hiding with his gun drawn. Byrd never issued a warning and we know that from multiple audio recordings from that day. We also know that he never saw a weapon in Babbitt's possession. What you refer to as a "violent mob" just asked three other Police Officers to step aside from in the front the barricaded doors so they wouldn't be hurt...which means Byrd had no reason to think that HE was in imminent danger!
The fact that three officers stepped aside to avoid being hurt by the mob is proof that Byrd and everyone sheltering there was in danger.
