The only warnings that were shouted were by other protesters who saw Byrd step out of hiding with his gun drawn. Byrd never issued a warning and we know that from multiple audio recordings from that day. We also know that he never saw a weapon in Babbitt's possession. What you refer to as a "violent mob" just asked three other Police Officers to step aside from in the front the barricaded doors so they wouldn't be hurt...which means Byrd had no reason to think that HE was in imminent danger!
The investigation showed otherwise, as they interviewed multiple officers around Byrd.

The fact that three officers stepped aside to avoid being hurt by the mob is proof that Byrd and everyone sheltering there was in danger.

She was wrong. The punishment Lt. Byrd administered for the crime that Babbitt was committing was excessive however. You don't shoot unarmed protesters who aren't a threat to you without warning in our country.
That is the point. There were a lot of people outside pressing to get in, he lost composure and fired. I get heat of the moment. It was a very hectic situation and he will regret taking that shot until the day he dies unless he’s a cold hearted son of a bitch that just wanted to kill somebody. I don’t want him banned from work again, but he should not be in that potential life and death situation again as part of his job.

Here is the reality, she was unarmed, she should not have been shot. But it also was a hectic situation. He should have not pulled the trigger, but I also understand the situation. He was in an extreme event, mistakes on both sides, and I think he will regret pulling that trigger till the day he dies.
Byrd was treated as a "hero" for shooting Babbitt! He was given a promotion. He was given a large bonus. Hard to understand what the thinking was for that. I see a law enforcement officer who wanted to shoot someone that day...did so without warning...and was never taken to task for what he did because of the political narrative that was being pushed. Lt. Byrd should have lost his job over his actions that day.

So you admit that there were non-violent, non-criminals still in the DC jail.
I don't know who was still in jail. I know that you don't have to be in jail to receive a pardon.
He did the right thing. The most violent among them have served far longer times than sentences Democratic Prosecutors recommend for the most violent of street thugs, especially if they came to the country illegally before committing their rapes and murders.
Seditious conspiracy is a pretty serious crime and not something that street thugs engage in.

So you're claiming that the three officers who WEREN'T hurt by the mob proves that the mob was dangerous? LOL

There were no political prisoners, just criminals and murderers.
Who murdered whom? The only deaths as a result of January 6th:

  • Protester shot for not heeding officer call
  • 1 died of drug overdose
-3 died from natural causes

It’s because of that fascist totalitarian attitude that puts people in jail without due process - Democrats hold no power.

So you're claiming that the three officers who WEREN'T hurt by the mob proves that the mob was dangerous? LOL
The officers moved because they were threatened by the mob. The only reason they weren't hurt is because they complied with the mob's threats. Had they stood their ground, they would have been hurt.

Wouldn't that indicate the mob was dangerous?

So you promote him? That's what happened. Police are in hectic situations every day. You don't reward them when they lose composure and fire a weapon.

What?!?!?!?!

A cop's buddies backed him up?

So, because a cop's buddies backed him up, you disavow what you can see with your own eyes?

I think we need another investigation.

How about you? Surely you cannot object to all the facts coming out. He's still innocent until proven guilty.

Those were Byrd's buddies who backed him up?

Maybe an impartial investigation will prove you right. I'm open minded. I just want the investigation to be fair and very, very thorough.

The fact that the protesters asked the Police to move so they wouldn't get hurt should tell any reasonable person that they weren't there to hurt Police...they were there to stop the Certification. If those protesters had attacked the Police on the other side of the door then Byrd would have had a reason to view them as dangerous to him. That didn't happen. So why did he feel the need to step out of hiding and shoot an unarmed person at point blank range through a barrier that hadn't been breached?

I don’t agree with how it played out after. But I also don’t agree he was out just to murder her. He should never be in a position to make that kind of decision again he’s already proved that he doesn’t have that decision making ability and I truly hope and I think he regrets pulling that trigger every day. If he doesn’t then I’m wrong and if he doesn’t I hope he goes straight to hell.

My eyes saw a violent mob breaking into the Capitol threatening members of Congress who were sheltering from those that sought to harm them. I don't know how you could "see" Byrd warning Babbitt.

Those were people we saw on the video leaving because the violent mob said they'd get hurt if they didn't.

They were there to hurt members of Congress and would hurt anyone who stood in their way.

Byrd was not going to run away from his duties to protect members of Congress and their staff. The rights of self defense apply when you're defending someone else in danger.

Actually one of the other Capitol Police officers on the same side of the barricaded door as Byrd testified under oath that he didn't see a weapon in Babbitt's hands.

Irrelevant. One does not need to have a weapon to constitute a threat.

And how many members of Congress did those protesters hurt once they were inside the Capitol Building? How many Police Officers were assaulted by protesters once they were inside the Capitol Building? That would be ZERO to both questions! So how do you claim imminent danger when nobody was harmed inside the Capitol building?

The protestors did not reach any members of Congress or their staff because of the actions of Capitol police who were defending them.

Please stop, she should not have died. I’m not saying he did so purposely with malice, making excuses for shooting an unarmed woman through a window is sad. All law-enforcement types are put under extreme situations. He reacted in the moment and it was mistake. I hope he regrets till the day he dies.
