I wonder how this will pan out. The UK Labor party changed into a neo-conservative party when Blair became the leader (after the untimely death of John Smith). So like the US we have two dominant parties neither of which really represent the "man in the street".

Like the US public disaffection with "immigration" was never listened to by either big party, had it been then addressing might have been less contentious than it is now.

Like the US there is no real "left vs right" (there was at one time in Britain) that's largely an illusion that serves the interests of those who seek division, seek to enrage people and so there are a lot of unrepresented decent well meaning people.

I feel Labor has now lost all credibility in Britain and the days of a true left party are gone, same here.

We need a new party same in the US but I suspect that won't happen, such a thing might emerge after a national cataclysm like a war but otherwise people are too unwilling to make a big change.

It's under the current Labor government that an organization opposed to genocide has been labelled as "terrorist" thus leading to the arrest of many people, including Holocaust survivors in their 90s who have lived in Britain since the end of WW2.

When a society arrests Jewish Holocaust survivors because they oppose an unfolding genocide, it signals to me that our civilization is heading for self destruction.
