I was going to edit my previous post to you, but the time limit had expired. Here is what I wanted to say.
Edit: I finally found the meaning. For reasons I can't understand, you and some others here want to imagine that I am not who I claim to be. But if you are discussing issues with people posting anonymously, and we are, what does it matter who they are? Either your viewpoints are valid or they are not. Either you can support your opinions with facts, or you can't.
In any event, I never saw or heard of this forum before I signed up here as Company 13. I found it while searching information on an issue.

I'm a liberal and a feminist. I'm old enough to have experienced Jim Crow and misogyny and to have openly opposed both.

Jim crow was created by democrats. Slavery wasnt the worst attack on blacks the welfare state was which is another form of slavery.

I lived it. I was there. I knew the Democratic racists personally. I knew them personally when they changed parties. And I knew why. The change wasn't overnight. When the Civil Rights Act was voted on, the parties were still in the middle of change. Now the racists are in the Republican Party and the Democratic Party is the opposite.
JFK introduced the Civil Rights Act and LBJ pushed it through. There were votes for it in both parties. And gradually, the segregationists changed to the Republican Party. There were a few racist politicians who remained in the Democratic Party because their constituents were too stupid to realize that the Democratic Party was no longer the party of racists.

I know Democrats have won votes in the South. Obama won North Carolina, for example.
