Hello, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted on a political forum and I missed it. I was a teenager during the Bush years and this was a favorite hobby of mine.

While I definitely lean left, I strongly dislike the culty aspects of both sides.

Before the election I would have said that the right was more culty, but my eyes have been opened and that is what has brought me here today.

I hope to find this experience fulfilling, though I don’t like how online discussions have changed in the twenty years. Thanks guys!

Haha well I’m sure you’ll be disappointed. I still find the culty aspects of the right to be more personally frustrating to me.

Most people I know are right leaning, and I didn’t realize until after the election that I was dismissing concerns I should have been taking more seriously.

Well two things:

1. People on the Left seem to confuse likability with cultism. Maybe because no one on the left is likable enough to actually BE liked. Thing is that if politicians (especially presidents) are really doing their jobs well, they SHOULD be liked!
2. The whole cult thing is indefensible now considering that the 2024 election has proven that the right IS the majority, and the whole concept of a cult is BASED on it being a SUBSET of the whole (thus a minor portion thereof).

Culty? I'm a conservative. but I've never gone to a meeting never called for info in an election, but decide who is best for me and my city-county voters when I do vote. That doesn't seem to enter the "culty" aspect of voting. It sounds as though you have had information from people you consider friends or family and that you know who's naughty and nice. Happy voting Mr or Ms Claus!

Culty is just the left's way of rationalizing their own failures as not THEIR fault but the unfortunate result of brainwashing by Trump. That way, it absolves them of any failure or responsibility.

Well, bless 'em, they're still Americans, and the reason is my family men engaged in WWII, and no matter who they met on the streets over here, they considered them friends whose dad may have saved grandpa or Uncle Wimpy's life on the battlefield. I love the thoughts of that because now, their friendly behaviors have been accepted by me for Americans I just met without prejudice them just because our parents may have saved our lives as baby boomers born as soldiers got home and brought my generation into this world. Big hug my fellow American citizens! I've been on the phone all day trying to wrap my mind about senior benefits that are going on for adult Americans and their friends and families.y phone has web/internet abilities....
