How Was Your Halloween?

Churches are right places to celebrate feasts.
And reading of Holy Bibles is more useful for kids as swallowing of candies
That's the reason our churches aren't hanging on to their followers like they used to.

I believe that Jesus was our Christ and savior, and that he went thru the worst ass-whipping in history for our sins, but I also think kids have to be allowed to be kids.

Maybe people have stopped trick-or-treating because it's not safe anymore.

This is the horrifying moment a 17-year-old opened fire on a Halloween crowd in Orlando and killed two, before being taken down by a hero cop.

Jaylen Dwayne Edgar was arrested after he killed two people and injured six others in downtown Orlando early on Friday, officials said.
They need to tie a rope around that guy's ankle and drag him down the main-drag till he expires from a bad case of road-rash.

Halloween celebrates demons and evil, it isn't a joke
I don't know of anyone at all who celebrates demons and evil on Halloween. Everyone I know just goes out, drinks, dresses up; and the kids gather candy. I wanna know what EXACTLY about that celebrates demons and evil.

Halloween trick or treating has died out as a cultural custom.
We haven't had Trick-or-Treaters on Halloween in over 10 years.
The question is why has this custom died off?
When I was a kido in the 60s, Halloween was pandemonium excitement for kids.
Our neighborhood was crawling with a parade of kids.

Maybe people have stopped trick-or-treating because it's not safe anymore.

^That's not kids trick-or-treating in the neighborhood, bro.

We would get sick eating so much Halloween candy when I was a kid.
My parents would always confiscate my candy and give me a piece whenever they felt I needed it.

I never finished my haul before most of it was going stale.

I feel your pain, brother. You got this massive haul, ready to dig in?
Shoop! You can have these 2 and maybe some tomorrow.

All of the kids on my street have parents with them.
This isn't 1969. Kids arranged that stuff with their parents to all go out together back in the day.
If something bad had happened, they couldn't get 'em all. Several would run right straight back to their parents and tell them what happened. We weren't idiots. Kids have a lot more run in them than adults, too.

Yesterday I was going to take a break from painting and put up some Halloween decorations, but it started raining around 3pm. I was hoping it would pass us by, but it kept drizzling till around 11pm.

No parent is going to let kids go out in that kind of weather.

Course, when I was a kid I was running from house to house in a snowstorm, so rain was nothing to me.

Not one kid showed up....and I was ready this time, unlike last year.

I had my garbageman costume on and I was going to hand out store bought popcorn balls, ghoulish rice crispy treats, and several other goodies.

Last year only a couple dozen kids showed up and I was lucky that I bought $10 bag of candy.

This year I had everything.....and got JACK-SQUAT!!!

We're too far out. We didn't have anyone. When we lived in town, the most we ever got was about 200 but a lady that I spoke to yesterday said that they had 1200 trick or treaters last year. Wow, this town only has about 7K residents.

Halloween has long been claimed as the high, holy day of Satan worship. This is the day when witches and warlocks gather to praise their leader and extend his work on Earth. Festivities are marked by unprecedented evil and blasphemy, with blood sacrifices and hedonistic practices playing prominent parts.

To far too great an extent, Christian families participate in the same, with children (and parents, too) dressing up as demons, ghosts, skeletons, wizards, etc. We can only surmise how much pleasure Satan derives from this deception.

Satan, we must remember, is the “adversary . . . [who], as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8), and many times he disguises himself as “an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). We are to “resist [him] stedfast in the faith” (1 Peter 5:9), for, “resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).

Although Satan is acknowledged to be “the prince of this world” (John 14:30), his doom is sure. “The God of peace shall bruise [literally crush] Satan under your feet shortly” (Romans 16:20). He will be “cast into the lake of fire and brimstone . . . and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Revelation 20:10).

Until the realization of that ultimate victory is gained, our mission on Earth is to “turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God” (Acts 26:18).

Accordingly, let us strive to see that his harmful influence is thwarted on this, his special day. The children of each community need protection from the evil influences boldly swarming this night. May we, ourselves, not fall prey to his dark deceptions, and especially in the lives of our children, may we focus their attention on the Light, instead.

That's exactly how I remember it.

Free candy and you get to dress up.
I always enjoyed Halloween as we distributed candy to the goblins but my folks didn't believe in it--likened it to begging, so we never went trick or treating. But they always took part beyond that. I love watching the grandkids enjoying the day.

Halloween is for little kids.

Really it is. Sorry, sluts. I'm sure you looked nice last night, though.

The question is why has this custom died off?
The custom was attacked by the left AND the right.
I don't celebrate satanic feasts.
Only idiots do it
This attitude from the right. . ^

And the scare mongering worrying worting from the left . .

Trunk-or-Treating Can Be an Inclusive Alternative to Trick-Or-Treating—Here's How

Started in the 90s, these parking lot parties can be perfect for families skipping traditional trick-or-treating, especially those caring for neurodivergent kids.

What to know about trunk-or-treating, a trick-or-treating alternative

I raised my kid in a very conservative village, about ten minutes outside of the bigger town I grew up in.

I noted that the local church party, (which was held at the local public junior high school gym,) had more in attendance than there were tricker-treaters.

I took my kid to it when he was seven, and he won a bike in a raffle there.

. . . but then, when he was older, I took him to the town where I grew up to go house to house.

The left, of course, had started scare mongering parents starting in around the seventies. It did not help that they found tainted candy in some kids hauls back then. With crap in it like needles, poison and razor blades. . . & bullies and pedos stalking kids.

How Americans Became Convinced Their Halloween Candy was Poisoned

While the fears may be overblown, Halloween crimes involving poison have occurred.

I think it was around the time I was eight or nine my folks said I could not eat anything in my haul until they inspected it, and I was not allowed to go out alone. I had to go with a group of school friends.

My kid hated trunk or treat. NO FUN AT ALL.

...

I took my youngest out trick-or-treating. There were lots of kids out, and lots of families happy to see them and have a little chat while handing out candy.
