How the parties have changed since 1980

The biggest shift is this: Prior to Y2K, Democrats and Republicans agreed that illegal immigration was a cancer in American society. Their rhetoric reflected this position. YouTube is filled with Clinton, Pelosi, Gore, etc., describing the ills of illegal immigration. Both parties agreed.

There was a period of a few years when the Democrats went dark on the issue, Obviously, they had collectively made a decision...these fukkers will eventually be voting Democrats.

It might not be this year or next year, but as long as they remain in the country, there will come a day when every one of those fukkers will become U.S. citizens, and reliable Democrat voters.

Today, we have masses of violent protesters, FIGHTING THE ENFORCEMENT OF LONGSTANDING IMMIGRATION LAWS. The Media go along with it. The reporting NEVER mentions whether the "detainees" are in the country illegally; it's always a sob story of some harmless wretch being detained for no reason, being mistreated while being detained.

If this ain't a "conspiracy," there is no such thing.

But it is a conspiracy. Happening right now. And only ONE PERSON is trying to fight it. Donald Fcuking Trump.

Can you list the number of employers and business owners who are in federal prison for hiring illegals?

Sorry your glorious cultural revolution is going to shit, comrade, at least you'll always have the shares of publicly traded corporations Chairman Trump has seized.
Sorry, pal. I'm not the "comrade". That would be you: another Northeastern Communist.

As I see it, the GOP has moved so far to the Right it only makes the Dems look far left. Of course the are some far Left voices in the Dems but I think overall the party only leans Left.
The far left voices are the loudest ones

I did not really start following politics until 2015. Honestly didn’t care all that much beforehand. From what I have read/watched. The Democratic Party has moved very far left.

Clinton was anti gay marriage. Obama was the deporter in chief. Democrats have seemingly embraced the wealthy while also pining for UH, vilifying wealthy persons and large corporations and seemingly for open borders and defunding the police. Sudden support of DEI and embracing the rainbow flag while vilifying the US flag. Pro Alphabet Mafia. Party surprisingly doesn’t want the straight white male vote.

Conversely the GOP has moved more toward populism. Likely as a response to the Democrats moving so far left. Highly secure borders, tougher H1B1 standards, pro policing, certainly pro 2A and pro life, pro capitalism, pro law and order (back the blue).

Both parties overspend, albeit for different reasons. Both parties have seemingly embraced vilifying Jews. GOP at least also vilifies Islam while the Democratic Party kowtows to it.

Both trying to win the podcast wars. Tough to tell who is winning. I’d give the GOP a slight edge. Democrats still control most of the main stream/old school media and Hollywood.

Overall I believe both parties have shifted so far from the middle (Democrats notably farther) that being a true independent voter is impossible.

Did I get this right? Fully? Partially?

Reagan was an idealist but after he took a bullet, likely planned by hs Deep State CIA VP, he towed the Party line.

535 representatives and maybe 10 of them are worth keeping

Hillary Clinton, if you'll remember was a big boss at Walmart back in the day.

So much for the real support of unions by the Democrat Party.

This is true. Its gotten to the point where you can't really look at the GOP as a serious party any longer. I heard an analysis the other day about McCain and Palin. Palin would famously get more people at her rallies than McCain did at his. This started the germ that has blossomed into the ugly disease that is the GOP today. Grumps one time here, shocked the world, and called the ditz out on being the dumb as a box of hammers. Everyone here knew she was a terrible choice for VP and she has done the responsible thing (either by design or by force) and has gone bye bye. Anyway today the more bizarre the idea, the more acceptance it finds in the GOP.

NATO has kept the USSR in check. Today they want to get rid of NATO. Why? Nobody really knows except that they didn't want any part of the Iranian misadventure--nor has any other ally.

USAID gave our farmers a place to sell their crops, gave the US an inroad to the halls of power in every nation that took the aid, was the best advertisement for the American ideal. The GOP schit-canned it. Why? Nobody really knows except for some moronic outliers where the aid fell into the wrong hands. The result is that our farmers are on welfare or closed up shop all together. Meanwhile oranges are $1.00+ at the store now.

DOGE...was formed to get rid of government inefficiency. A few months later on a "use it or lose it" contract--the type of thing DOGE was formed to get rid of--the Pentagon spent $93B in a hurry ($50B in the last 5 days); 100K was spent on a piano for one of the flag officers.

The $1.8B Slush Fund to reward cop killers; the $1B for a new ballroom, the bastardization of every governmental office Its all because the GOP has been willfully hijacked.
