US foreign policy has been clear on the China and Taiwan issues since Trump raised the argument over intellectual property theft, and Biden's (later retracted by the Whitehouse staff) statements about the US supporting Taiwan's independence with US troops if necessary.

now we have a perfect opportunity to arm Taiwan with asymetrical force weapons.

despite what Macron said the other day, i believe it to be *essential* for Taiwan and NATO and even the EU, to actually receive these weapons in good order.
and for evacuation plans and -diplomacy to be planned out at this stage as well, just in case things turn out bad for the Taiwanese when the Chinese strike.

that's right, *when* the Chinese strike.
because by now, it's clear that Xi and the CCP have turned the conquest of Taiwan into their next big national project, as *evidenced* by their recent statements that "China must prepare for real war".

he's acting as dangerously as Chamberlain did appeasing the 1930s Germans.

the Chinese *are* after world-domination, by their shrewd force tactics.
they're setting up a global alliance of anti-western countries,
and that could very easily backfire on the currently China-appeasing Europeans.

Yes, Japan will be a significant player in protecting the region. They also have plenty at stake themselves,.especially since many who in China who were around during WWII surely shared the stories of abuse they suffered at the hands of the Japanese. The Japanese have to be aware of these lingering memories.

America, since the days of Carter, have made it abundantly clear that we won't risk coming to the aid of Taiwan from Chinese invasion if it means risking our forces.

Until recently, we could count on the threat of economic sanctions to keep China in check but, with the China's economy rivaling that of the US and Europe, and the current administration in power, there has never been a better time (from China's perspective) to forcibly bring Taiwan "back into the fold" as China sees it.
