How negligence and corruption fueled the wildfires - a view from the left

It’s exactly the same thing, hypocrite.

What policies did those in NC, for example, implement that allowed for such a tragedy? Were there any warning signs whatsoever that a hurricane would hit the Western NC mountains? Were there any warning signs in CA that the Santa Ana winds would blow and that wildfires were a real possibility? Think on that and get back to me.

They live in a flood plain. Never a good idea. Besides who are you punishing in CA, everyone including Trump voters.

I didn’t say we shouldn’t help them, all I said was that there must he strings attached. We can’t give them tons of money and then have them implement a bunch of woke policies that don’t address the problem. That makes no sense.

Who allowed people to build on a flood plain? Should we really have to help rebuild the homes of people who would do that?

People have always built on flood plains. Those States haven't enacted policies that make it MORE risky to do so as opposed to less.

Cali refuses to change it brush clearing policies, makes proscribed burns difficult to get permits for, and regulated its insurance industry to the point they are cancelling policies. They haven't built a new reservoir in decades despite population increases, and they worry more about checking DEI boxes on hires than competency.

The real problem is incompetence, which DEI programs foster. Newsflash, if you don’t hire employees based on their competence to perform a job, but rather their gender, skin color and/or sexual orientation, you will have problems.

It’s common sense. That’s why leftists don’t understand it.

We had a major desalination debate in CA in 1999.

The Dems opposed. That would be taxpayer money going to something useful, not their pockets...
