How much freedom should people have?

There have been a lot of communism threads lately, with most denying it exists, and the rest spouting the virtues of socialism. My question for the 'it takes a village' people is how much freedom do you think a citizen should be allowed to have? The 'common good' idea has no real limit on how much power the government can take. I'm not really interested in whataboutism, saying your side doesn't believe in freedom either. I think we need to ask if elected officials have any interest in improving the country, and we need to ask if there are any consequences if they break the law. Even democrats have to scratch their heads at 6000 page spending bills where the citizens have no idea where their money is going. I get that we need roads, police, fire, and the military, but where do you see the limit on 'common good' government power? Do you see a problem with government officials with no oversight using 'common good' to increase their power? Do you really think they are improving the common good or have any intention of doing so? I personally believe that people can be left a great deal of freedom without being anywhere near anarchy. Considering our leaders don't have our interests in mind it would seem like a good idea.

Leftists only care about a hand full of freedoms. That includes the right to take any illicit drugs they want and have as much sexual freedom as they want, just so long as they can kill off any unwanted baggage from such behavior.

And that is it. They will gladly lay down all other freedoms to the state.

People should be able to do whatever they want, as long as it doesnt affect other people.
Your liberty ends at the tip of your nose. Or your man boobs, if you are a fat ass.

All powers not specifically given to the federal government in the US Constitution is delegated to the states. The Federal Govt under Democrats have become an oppressive Marxist / Socialist, Constitutional and Civil Rights violating nightmare.

The Constitution clearly spells out what freedoms and Rights we have. For some reason, Democrats can's seem to be able to read any more.
