How much do you need to win by for you to have a "mandate"?

Thank you. I doubt it will be that way.

It’s almost a given that Republicans will over reach and in two years get thrown out of Congress
Ha! Nice try!!
There will be no more elections.
Unless you people lied about that.

Now, obviously, you only win with electoral votes; "winning" the popular vote and $1.00 will buy large Diet Coke at Wendy's.

So, how many EVs do you need to legitimately claim a mandate?

Does that number apply to both sides, or just one?
I ask because we all know people who will argue "Trump didn't win by enough to claim a mandate" will also argue "Harris won, period, so she has a mandate".

In today's politics if you sweep the swing states and win the popular vote its a mandate. Trump clearly has a mandate.

In any event, looking at this link tells us Republicans had a mandate from 1980-1988 and in 1972. Dems had one in 1964.

Dems had one in 2008. Republicans had one in 2016.

It appears that Democrats will retake the House, so no Trump does NOT have a mandate. It appears that the Democrats are going to take all of the powers granted by the Supreme Court, and use them to block the Republicans from executing Project 2025.

The American people will soon tire of Trump as his failures mount again.

You're full of poo - the GOP is currently +2 and needs 8 out of the 29 uncalled seats to win the house.
But, good to know that you agree -- if the GOP takes the house:
Trump has a mandate.

It appears that the Democrats are going to take all of the powers granted by the Supreme Court, and use them to block the Republicans from executing Project 2025.
Mindless nonsense.

Uh oh.
Looking more and more like a Trump mandate....

the EC, popular vote, and both houses of congress is a mandate.

Why won't you admit Trump has a mandate?

Because he doesn’t. He won with less than 50% of the popular vote.

Both the House and the Senate are nearly equally divided. Trump has a two seat majority in the house four seats in the Senate.

He doesn’t have a veto proof majority anywhere.

That’s not any kind of mandate at all.

Aww. Did you move the goalpost?
Of course you did - better that than have to admit Trump - by your standard - has a mandate.

Why won't you admit that according to -your- terms, Trump has a mandate?

Mandate was introduced by the MSM to promote democrats. According to them, dems always have a mandate and republicans never do. The useful idiots believe what they’re told regarding mandates.

The latest vote count, and yes it could change, has Trump with just slightly more than half the votes.

The only non mandate was the popular
Electoral overwhelming mandate
Senate mandate
The two cheated seats of curing in the house I discard so that’s a mandate as well
