How many good cops are out there?

The problem is a top down one, beginning with the politicians.

Most cops put in 60 hour weeks, working for peanuts. They are just doing a job like the rest of us, trying to feed their families. They have to make split second decisions many times over - much of those life or death decisions are made working overtime after a grueling 12 hour shift.

Slam the politicians. But, leave the cops alone.

Just me two cents.
Yeah cops should get a break for shitting our rights. Let's blame the people that didn't cause them to act that way.

I understand exactly why you're a bitch. I've seen it a thousand times.
A person that supports the govt abusing its authority is a bitch. Not the one that is against it.
You are a government stooge. A good little leftist.

Hello, TNHarley.

I take back what I said about blaming politicians. I've had a change of heart about that one. It happened in another, completely unrelated thread last night. That thread was about Jesus and love and what would Jesus do. Someone said something to me, expanding on one of my posts, that more than reminded me of something I already knew - but had forgotten.

Anyways, my point is that sometimes we evolve on our opinions, albeit for me (anyway), it's usually not that quick.

Getting back to the topic at hand, the answer is love for our neighbor. I love all right now and intend to stay in this mode. I love Trump, Harris, JD Vance, Tim Walz - I love cops, all sinners, all people of the world and my enemies, as well. I was wrong to blame the politicians, as I love them, too. However, you are wrong to blame cops for not doing their jobs perfectly or - to use your words - "shitting on our rights." I most respectfully disagree with that - even though I completely get where you're coming from, believe me.

I would recommend that you read a book. It's called "The Four Agreements," by Don Miguel Ruiz. That will solve your conflict about cops. That book changed my life, many years ago. That other poster, in that other thread last night, reminded me of what I used to practice (but had forgotten).

Blaming others for our grievances never works. I don't care who wins this election (I mean that). Nothing will change, as folks will still slam the government for their problems.

I will be taking a couple of months off from posting, as I personally need to become re-centered and start practicing what I preach. I do hope you at least google that book. I'm sincere when I say that.

Take care and please be well.
